In order to cancel a flight, you have to be able to book a flight first.

Canceled half my trip yesterday doing this. Hopefully Lifemiles does something similar.

FYI – Please note that the cancellation is not immediate and you get a message to wait at least 10 business days for the cancellation to processed manually. Therefore, while you do get confirmation of the cancellation, and the fee is waived, the miles do not go back to your account immediately and will in fact take time to go back. This is important to note if one is thinking of doing a new booking for a future date using the miles. Same goes for the refund of the taxes.

It was instant in my mind experience (3/20/20)

It was instant for me on Monday. The screens did change very slowly and the final screen took over 30 sec to come back, but with the Green Tick Mark and the description of Successfully refunded the award booking.
Miles shown in my account balance when I was still on the final screen.

Received 3 emails – 1 confirmed the award canceled, 1 each for the refund of taxes on each passenger.

Refund showed up on CSR on Mar 19, but with the original booking date.

Due to the CAD has dropped about 10% since late January, my refund while is the same in CAD, it is 10% less in USD…

I am very grateful on Aeroplan putting the online cancellation in effect so one does not have to endure long hold time.

Note – if your itinerary has some changes, you would need to still call or if it is AC flights, you would need to “accept” the changes before you can do the cancellation online.

Else it is very straight forward.

Yes, same 10 day message. Cancelled on 3/13 and still waiting. I guess it depends which airline you booked. Mine is TK.

I have Air Canada eticket vouchers of $200 each. Can these e-vouchers be used to book reward tickets on Aeroplan website or only on Air Canada website? Best way to use my Air Canada e-vouchers? Being in USA, Air Canada travel is not useful for flights within USA, it seems

I did this online last week. Super easy.

(Vs UA who cancelled my domestic non-stop in May, rebooked me on a 1 stop coming in later and said no re-deposits for me have an award voucher. DOT complaint filed. Jerks.)

Hey man, how long did it take for your previous booking to be shown in your aeroplan booking? I booked an Eva Air business 2 days ago and it’s still not shown in the system yet. I can pull it out with the reference number but it didn’t allow me to cancel and need me to call them, but the call center said they were too busy and cannot even put me on hold

I booked Swiss Air through Aeroplan and it showed right away.

From what I’ve seen on Flyertalk Aeroplan’s phones lines were a sh*t show before this started so you could be in for a rough time here…

That’s good.
(I hope AA follows suit as I have AA flights from US to CAN for 7 ppl beginning april)

How about Air Canada itself?
