The PR team from the Bank of America Alaska Visa card sent out notice today of new benefits coming to the card starting tomorrow, June 1:
Bank of America and Alaska Airlines are announcing new and exciting benefits available with the Alaska Airlines Visa credit card. Starting June 1, when using their Alaska Airlines Visa card, existing and new cardholders will receive:
- 20% back on Alaska Airlines in-flight purchases (including food, beverage, and Wi-Fi)
- 50% Lounge day-pass discount
These new benefits come in addition to Alaska’s Famous Companion Fare offer, 3X miles on eligible Alaska Airlines purchases and a free checked bag for you and up to 6 guests on the same reservation, when you use your card.
Not sure these things will convince anyone to signup for the Alaska card, but these could be nice little perks in addition to the other value the card has to offer.
How about the Alaska biz card?

Is this only for the personal card, or is it for the business card as well?
Can you use the Alaska lounge with a separate airline ticket? Could be worth it for places with crowded centurion or no PP
IME, they didnt let me do this at PDX–even though I had legit passes. However with these new perks, its worth trying to see if they will.
For Day Pass access, Yes.
Our day pass policies
A day pass can be used to access any Alaska Lounge location within 24 hours of the time of redemption.
A day pass can be redeemed within three months from the date of purchase, except for passes purchased through the offer described above.
A day pass must be used in conjunction with same-day, ticketed air travel on any airline.
One day pass is required per person, however children younger than 2 can accompany an adult member at no charge.
Alaska Lounge access and the sale of day passes may be limited due to capacity restrictions.
Day passes are non-refundable, however if you purchase a membership within 30 days of purchasing a day pass, we’ll refund you for the cost of the day pass. Simply purchase your membership, then email [email protected] with your Mileage Plan number. Limited to one day pass and applies only to first time members.
