Ally has launched three credit cards:
- Ally Unlimited Cash Back Mastercard
- Earn 2% cash back on all purchases
- No annual fee
- No sign up bonus
- Ally Everyday Cash Back Mastercard
- Card earns at the following rates:
- 3% cash back on purchases at gas stations, grocery stores, and drugstores
- 1% cash back on all other purchases
- Annual fee of $0 – $39
- No sign up bonus
- Card earns at the following rates:
- Ally Platinum Mastercard
- No sign up bonus
- No annual fee
- Card doesn’t earn rewards
The fact there is no sign up bonus on any of the cards makes them dead on arrival.
i got 20 external accounts limit with ally. so stupid thing. i hate you Ally
Wait until you hit the 99 external total account limit…
This 99 limit exists even if you remove accounts?
> The fact there is no sign up bonus on any of the cards makes them dead on arrival.
Indeed. Could have added some extra incentive for customers who have a savings or brokerage account?
Missed opportunity here with the lack of benefits. Hard to recommend over DoubleCash on the redemption side (as you can pair with another card to increase potential value) or Fidelity (slightly more benefits).
An Extended Warranty benefit would have made the 2% card more interesting. As of now, better options already out there.
You can go fk yourself Ally
3% cash back for gas/grocery/drugstores is ok. But it doesn’t have a SUB and there are other cards which can do this.
– American Heritage Credit Union Cash Reward Mastercard
– AMEX BCP or BCE
– Andrews FCU Titanium Rewards
– Bank of America with Platinum Honors
– Bank of the West Cash Back World
– Chase Freedom Unlimited/Flex combined with one of the several 4-5% gas cards
– Navy Federal More Rewards
– NIH Federal Credit Union Cash Rewards
– UMB Simply Rewards
– Walgreens Mastercard
Ally needs to have good benefits and zero FTF. Some way to stand apart.
It does have zero FTF
I’m interested but haven’t been invited. Thanks Ally

Love how they promote “24/7 customer care” as if no competitor actually had that. And the 7 presumably means that it will take seven days to get a response… it’s Thursday and I haven’t received a reply to a secure message I sent Ally on Saturday. Their customer service team seems to be in shambles.
Maybe get over speaking-to-an-actual-person fear and call the number on the back of the card?
Why would I want an invite to those? There’s already multiple 2% cards out there, so this offers nothing really differentiating.
One stop shopping for Ally customers is the play here.
Savings checking invest credit loans.
There are not many 2% cards with no FTF and no caps on earnings and no minimum redeption and very few other fees like they have. I see it as a strong offer, especially for someone who already has an Ally account.
Are their cards easy to set cash advance limit to $0? I would be interested in adding the 2% cb card for cc funding.
