There are other uses for these masks other than the current pandemic. You seem like you are pretty angry at people having the freedom to do their own action(s) that they feel keep them safe without harming or interfering with anyone else’s freedom. Hope you feel better soon internet citizen.

You don’t wear a mask to protect yourself. You wear one to prevent yourself from infecting other people. The mask is to prevent small water droplets that you exhale from being inhaled by other people.
It’s the same reason why restaurant staff wash their hands after visiting the bathroom – so they don’t infect other people.
Exactly. . . . The numerous things we do routinely to prevent infections. Somehow not wearing a simple mask and other guidelines have been infantilized and politicized by these folks’ new messiah as a sign of their “loyalty”. A primitive ritual of death and sacrifice.

You might be thinking too narrowly. These masks are also great if you have seasonal allergies or are cleaning your house.
By the same vein, COVID isn’t the only virus these masks are blocking. A virus is also not the only thing that can kill you by entering your nose or mouth.
I’m irritated that even after a year, some people still haven’t learned a damn thing about mask wearing.

I’m not in the pro-mask-mandate camp, but I suppose that since my elderly parents are required to wear masks in the hallway of their old folks home, they might as well have inexpensive, fresh masks. So yeah, if I have to buy them anyway, why not save a buck? Pause for a moment, and consider: realize that not everyone is in the same circumstances as you.
