Amazon Prime Student & EBT Referral Program Bonus ($10/$5)

The Offer

Direct Link to offer (affiliate links in this post)

  • Amazon offers a referral bonus for Prime Students who refer student friends:
    • Referrer gets $10 Amazon shopping credit
    • New student member gets $5 Amazon shopping credit

From the landing page it sounds like there’s a similar referral bonus program for Prime members on the discounted government assistance rate.

Our Verdict

Nice bonus for students to refer friends. New Prime student members get 6 months of Prime free, and this $10/$5 bonus is an additional bonus on top top of that. Note: Prime Student prices are soon going up from $59/yr to $69/yr.

Do not share your referrals in the comments, ask your friends for a referral instead.

Any idea if this is still active? Link appears to be dead, it just redirects to the generic prime page

After purchasing something on Amazon, on next page it’s supposed to show your referral link. It doesn’t anymore. And since it was supposed to end by 12/31/2022. My guess is that they saw too many referrals getting claimed and hid the user’s referral link.

Do the statuses have to match?
The referee may be a student ($5 bonus) and the referrer may have an EBT card ($10 bonus). Hope that made some kind of sense.

Does anyone know if the 30 day trial triggers the bonus or if the person has to pay the first month?

This is the actual verbiage for anyone that is interested

You enjoy Prime for half price. Let others in on the deal!

Invite a qualifying government assistance recipient
You earn a $10 reward credit when they join Prime for half price
They’ll earn a $5 shopping credit

You can invite as many people as you want, and you’ll earn a $10 reward credit for each of the first 10 people who join. Reward credits cannot be combined toward the purchase of a single item.

Then the referral link is at the bottom

Should be called Tax Payer Assistance, since that’s what it actually is. Government is not helping anyone.

Unpopular opinion if you’re on EBT the last of your worries is a Amazon Prime membership.

I’m not seeing a link to refer. I also can’t understand whether referral bonuses are available (if not students) for EBT beneficiary referring and/or referred??

I have the government assistance rate. I see the $10 offer button on the top right of the homepage underneath the cart.
Also, there is a $100 limit

I have this link, for EBT/SNAP/Medicaid members. It shows a counter at the bottom where you can see how many credits you received. Currently I pay $5.99/mo, which I guess is staying the same?
