American Express Adds The Option To Request A Centurion Invitation

American Express offers a centurion card which is basically an invite only version of the Platinum card with a much higher annual fee of $5,000 and some differing benefits. There is also a $10,000 initation fee. The annual fee is so high that American Express is rumored to be introducing another card between Platinum & Centurion. As mention the Centurion card requires an invitation to be able to apply for it, generally to receive an invitation you need to be flagged as a high income/networth individual and also have considerable spend on existing American Express cards. American Express has now added the option to be considered for an invite on the Centurion.com website.

If American Express does launch a new card between Platinum & Centurion I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a marketing vehicle for that card (e.g this is a way of getting the information of a lot of people that are interested in the Centurion card that might not ordinarily qualify).

Consistently spend $20k/mo on an Amex charge card and they’ll invite you.

Btw, this has been around for a year now. I remember doing a Google search and seeing this form come up.

Sounds like they’re pretty thirsty for those AFs. They might just give everyone an invite for the initiation fee

You need to enter a platinum card number to get ‘if selected, an invitation will be sent to you’

I didn’t even have the option to enter anything. Once I looked in I got that message. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a platinum currently?

You are underestimating the value of using the Centurion Lounge on arrival!

You mean the same one I can get for $550 with the platinum amex?

You can’t use the platinum for access on arrival, can be turned away due to capacity, and are subject to a variety of other fun restrictions.

Is there any risk if you submit your interest and get an invitation then turn it down?

It’s AmEx, so they’ll probably clawback your pet and your favorite sweater if you do.
