- American Express is offering a 33% transfer bonus when you transfer Membership Rewards points to Hilton Honors. The normal rate is 1,000 Membership Rewards points = 1,500 Hilton Honors and with this promotion you’ll receive 2,010 Hilton Honors instead.

Our Verdict
They have offered the following targeted transfer bonuses in the past:
- October 16th – November 30th, 2014: 33% bonus (going from a rate of 1:1.5 to a rate of 1:2)
- December 1, 2012 to January 31, 2013, 2013: 33% bonus (going from a rate of 1:1.5 to a rate of 1:2)
Personally I think membership rewards points are significantly more valuable than Hilton points (even at a rate of over 1:2) so I won’t be transferring any points across. Might be worth it if you have a specific redemption in mind that provides outsized value and you have too many Membership Rewards points or you just need a small number of Hilton points for your redemption. For the majority of people this isn’t useful though. There is also a 30% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic as well.
