Our Verdict

This’ll stack with any category bonuses as well which could make it a good deal for some people. Personally I think it’s too risky to manufactured spend with American Express these days and Hilton isn’t exactly the most valuable currency either. Still a good deal for those planning to spend $15,000 for the free night certificate or for people with a lot of natural spend on these cards anyway.

I had this on my hilton biz card. I applied and was approved on 1/1/21 and it says you must be a card member before 1/1/21, so does this mean that I’m not eligible even though it was under my offers?

Crap, where was that last week? I threatened to cancel my Aspire card because it was the only one not offering any pandemic offers and all they offered was a lousy 10,000 points to keep it.

If you downgraded you can reinstate. But from other comments, you may have received the $20 offer anyway, not sure if that will be effective if you downgrade.

I’m not seeing this on any of my amex hilton cards (no fee and aspire).
Are they targeted or is everyone supposed to get them?

Comes out to 5x per dollar spent….probably still not worth it.

You’re doing it wrong

that’s right. if you value points at .5 cents, it makes it 2.5% back in hilton points instead of 1.5% for general spend so it’s not bad if you are working on your 15K spend for your FN certificate.

Certainly, if you are working towards the free night certificate it is an added sweetener! However, it probably commences from the day you select the offer and is not retroactive.

Right. So if you have already spent 1K, you only have until June 30 to earn the extra points (starting with today) so good to decide if you are going to go for 5K, 10K or 15K spending between and the june 30 deadline to maximize your points.

no guarantees bu amex doesn’t seem to have an issue with capped spending bonuses even if you are doing MS. and this one isn’t very lucrative anyways unless you do have a fair amount of organic-ish spending….

This is not true anymore. They clawed back the $7500 capped Bonvoy grocery bonus last summer.
