American Express has sent out an e-mail to cardholders informing them of three changes:
- Events with Amex benefit to be removed (June 10, 2026). Card members will still be able to access special tickets, unique offers and exclusive card member experiences
- Centurion lounge access changes (July 8, 2026), discussed before in this linked post:
- Layover limited within five hours of connecting flight
- Primary cardholder must be on the same flight as guests
- Uber VIP will be removed from the $200 Uber cash benefit (May 7, 2026). This will be replaced with Signature Support for Amex. “a premium level of phone customer service including 24/7 access to live customer support agents. Signature Support for Amex can be accessed in the account section of the Uber, Uber Eats, or Postmates apps via the Partner Rewards Hub or Help pages. Further details will be available at uber.com/signaturesupport starting on May 7, 2026.”
We already knew about the lounge changes, I can’t remember Events with Amex or Uber VIP ever being useful. It’ll be interesting to see if Signature Support for Amex is an improvement or not.
