Amex Business Gift Cards 2.2% Cashback with BeFrugal

The Offer

Direct Link

  • Purchase Amex gift cards by going through the BeFrugal shopping portal and receive 2.2% cashback on the purchase.

FrequentMiler reports that in practice these 2.2% offers from BeFrugal have been resulting in 2.25%, making the deal slightly better than advertised.

The Fine Print

  • Business gift cards only – personal cards will earn just 1.5%
  • You can pay with a personal credit card; no need to pay with a business card
  • Max order of Amex business gift cards is $100,000 per 14 days -if you’re asked for a TaxID Number (on large orders they sometimes do that), you can use your SSN instead
  • Don’t purchase denominations of more than $2,000 as that negates cashback
  • Don’t use a promo code as that negates cashback
  • Valid today 8/7/15 only

Our Verdict

We like posting about these 2.25% Amex gift card offers since they’re the best you can get these days. Typically, it’s just 1.5% and it often goes up to 2%.

These 2.25% offers are especially interesting in light of the new promotional Plastiq rate which allows us to make payments for things like mortgages and car loans with just a 1.99% payment processing fee.

(Here’s my My BeFrugal referral link. There’s incidentally a $5 BeFrugal signup bonus now, which isn’t always there, so it would be a good time to signup now. I’ll also get $10 if you use the link.)

If you buy these with a Fidelity amex it would be 2.25% cash back for the GC, and 2% cash back on the amex. Wouldn’t that be 4.25% cash back total minus the 1.99% Plastiq fee? So a net of 2.26%?

Am I missing something?

Can you order 2k + 2k + 1k GCs in one order and get cashback on it? Or does it have to be 2k max per order?

Btw I see some terms that say personalized cards vs gold cards some earn cashback some do not. Do you know anything about this?

Thanks

You can order as much as you want. Just a single card can not be over $2k. There is a $3k denomination on the AGC. So don’t use that one. So for $5k, it OK to go 2+2+1 but not 3+2.
