- Offer valid for purchases paid for at the pump at U.S. Exxon and Mobil locations only. Purchases such as Speedpass™ and Speedpass+™ mobile app transactions are included if the account is linked to your enrolled Card.
- Excludes all other transactions such as, but not limited to, purchases inside convenience stores, car washes, automotive repair, aviation & marine fuel, garage services, Esso & AXTO brands, international locations, and gift cards.
- It’s not clear in the terms whether the $25 threshold must be met in a single transaction or it can be split across multiple transactions; often, the gas offers require a single transaction, though the wording of this offer (“purchases”) indicates it can be split
Our Verdict
This one seems to be available on all Amex MembershipReward-earning cards from what I see.
Excellent deal, depending how you value MR, this could be almost like free $25 of gas per card. Would be nice if it works inside the convenience store too, but the terms limit the offer to pump-purchases only, and this has been enforced in previous offers.
You also get a bonus MR point for each dollar spent until year’s end at ExxonMobil along with many other retailers. This should stack with the 1,000 deal to earn you a few extra points.
