The Offer

No direct link, check your AmEx Offers

  • Get 20% back as a statement credit by using your enrolled Card to make a hotel booking online at www.expedia.com/amex by 12/31/2020.

Valid only at www.expedia.com/amex. Valid only on ‘pre-paid’ (“pay online now”) hotel purchases. Limit of $20 in total statement credits.

The Fine Print

  • Offer valid for pre-paid hotel purchases made online through the following link www.expedia.com/amex using the pre-paid option at checkout (“pay online now”) only.
  • Excludes “pay at property” purchases and purchases made over the phone.
  • Excludes cruises, vacation packages, flights, car rental and activities, trip insurance and other 3rd party brands, including properties offered by Vrbo and/or HomeAway entities.
  • Offer only valid on room rate and room charges.
  • Offer not valid for lodging stays that are paid for before the promotion start date or after the promotion end date.

Our Verdict

Nice discount; looks like this offer might be showing on all cards. Historically, using the specific link (www.expedia.com/amex) is usually not necessarily with AmEx Offers, so it should work if you go through a portal as well. (You can always addend the URL with ‘/amex’ to be safe.)

Does anyone know how to make the complete list of added offers to show? I have added 218 offers to my card, but it only shows 100 added offers on the app and website. Chatted with an Amex rep, he had no clue.

I have a question for anyone who knows.. the terms say you need to make the purchase at “www.expedia.com/amex” is that true or is it still safe to use a cashback web site to click over to Expedia?  Chuck

wow you’re fast!!  Chuck does that mean click on the cashback link first and then add /amex at the end of it? but won’t that cause the cashback to not track?

Chuck do you think it would work to just click on the cashback link and use the AmEx card to check out without opening a new tab or changing the URL?

I added it anyway to clear my offers even though I’m never going to use it as it’s for hotels only.
