Bank of America & Alaska Air Group have announced an expansion of their partnership, including a mult year extension of its co-branded partnership. As part of this move Atmos Rewards cards will move to a single card issuer. Previously Bank of America issued Alaska Air cards and Barclays was the issuer for Hawaiian. Alaska has acquired Hawaiian airlines and the new cards card changed branding from Alaska Air to Atmos.
It’s not immediately clear from the press release if this means that Bank of America will be acquiring the back book from Barclays for existing cardholders. We have reached out to both Bank of America & Alaska for comment.
The release does mention increasing investment into Alaska and Hawaiian’s lounge program and also enhancing the suite of credit cards (including new cards and refreshes of existing cards). Will have to add the possibility of new cards to our tracker for 2026.
