- To qualify for the 1500 extra points, you must have net Qualifying Purchases totaling $150 or more at retail stores and online merchants using your BBVA Compass American Express Card POST to your account between November 23, 2017 and November 27, 2017
Our Verdict
Nice little bonus there, it’ll end up as 11.5% back on the $150 in purchases after accounting for the regular rewards + bonus. Most people also got a spend offer to get $100 after adding the BBVA card to their BBVA Wallet and spending $1k or $2k or $4k or $5k; this $150 can contribute to that too. (There’s also a BBVA grocery bonus which expires today and won’t stack.)
I got this one, not sure if they sent it to everyone or it’s targeted.
I am wondering whether anybody has got the bonus points yet? I think the promo was offered twice, during the Thanksgiving time and the Xmas time. I haven’t got bonus points for either spending.
I had 3 offers, and none have posted as of 02/10/2018. More BBVA Compass fraud? They do have a history, and crappy customer service regarding bonus points posting.

Yup, I got the same, didn’t get the first one though, loving all the bonuses on this card.
I got a letter from BBVA a couple days ago about another 1,500 pt bonus. This is the gist of it:
“You can earn 1,500 bonus points (a $15 value) when you spend at least $150 in Qualifying Purchases at retail stores and online merchants between December 17 and December 31, 2017.”
Do we think Amazon GC’s fit BBVA’s description of “retail store or online merchant” since they are technically sold by ACI Gift Cards and may be coded as such? My promo was for 4k points for $400 spent, I don’t want to buy that much Amazon credit to not get the bonus.
Targeted? I didn’t get an email but did get the 100/5000 bonus (which I probably won’t pursue)

so…no restriction on the stores? just “retail”? so, no grocery or restaurants, but a $200 VGC at officemax is ok, right?

So it’s possible a grocery purchase today would post tomorrow and get both. I didn’t get the grocery one or I’d try it, and although the grocery bonus has the POST lingo as well, I bet today’s purchases will count.
