Seems they can never get it right.
The 5% cash back for All Star Weekend on the BBVA NBA card has now posted. With one caveat: they only counted transactions from the 18th and 19th. Transactions from the 17th remain at 1% back.
BBVA clearly stated that the eligible dates are the 17th, 18th, and 19th.

Unfortunately for me, all my $5k in purchases were done on the 17th, and I’m sure many others are in the same boat. Let’s hope they’ll clear up this issue within a few days. I’m sure they’ve heard about it from many people already.
I’d also be curious to hear from readers if they see any purchases from the 18th and 19th that have NOT posted at 5%. For example, some were told that wholesale clubs don’t get 5%, and in previous promotions Plastiq didn’t work. I’m wondering if everything will work now that they’ve capped it at $5k. I did a test myself with a $50 Plastiq payment, but it was made on the 17th so I can’t yet be a data point. It’s good to keep track on what works so we’ll know for the future.
