Why would you object to using a DoC affiliate link? This has been consistently the best site for unbiased credit card info for years. Why wouldn’t you want to support it? Hell, it’s an affiliate link for a 4 month free trial…

Had an Apple News+ subscription, just canceled it and redeemed the code, it gave me 3 months. Next billing date is in October.

Will you be automatically charged after 4 months?

Yes, but you can cancel the day before

You can cancel 3 seconds after you redeem it and still have it for 3 or 4 months.

Are you sure? Recalling that Apple News+ cancelled immediately back when it launched. Has Apple changed their policies since then?

I recall that from my first trial, but I did just confirm going to the Subscriptions page – it’s clear that if you cancel now you keep access until the last day. My Intro 1 year of Apple TV+ (from a new device purchase a while back) explicitly states you lose access immediately, however.

Same happened to me too

I was basing my answer on the way Apple TV+ works, so they might only do that for the one year trial on that service.
