Our Verdict

I think these boxes are a good deal if you know you’ll be able to spend the credit you receive on something that is eligible (and it’s price competitive with other stores). Otherwise you’re just hoping you do find something you like. We list all the ways to save money on Amazon in this guide here.  They also have individual samples you can try as well.

Not a sample box per se, but I noticed Vega protein powered has a $2 sample with $2 credit. Went ahead and ordered it, as I was planning to get Vega anyways.

I’d be curious if others have seen any single small samples like that around. Love for a master list to form.

Amazon has a page dedicated to offers like this. Hope it helps.

It should be noted that this is essentially 50% off a double order, or BOGO. Nothing free here!

My understanding is that you get credit for the category of item that the sample is in, but the deal is not limited to sample boxes. Last night I saw this and bought a few different individual snacks, like protein bars and beef jerky, and I checked to see the items I am eligible to buy with my credit, and there seemed to be pretty normal snacks similar to the ones I bought that I’ll now get at a steep discount. However, I am not sure whether, for instance, the multiple $2 credits for the protein bars can be combined for a purchase int hat category, or if I’ll just get $2 off a full price bar.

This seems to stack with the $30 off $60 offer when using at least on AmEx Membership Rewards points. I had a $50 order and needed another $10 of ‘shipped & sold by Amazon’ items to put me over the top. The coffee snack box worked to trigger the offer. I have not tested but would assume $60+ of sample boxes would trigger the offer.

I bought the Purina box recently and was happy with it. I get Fancy Feast broths on a regular basis to bribe one of my cats into taking his medication, so the credit was for something I was going to buy anyway. My cats enjoyed the samples of the other expensive foods that I’m not going to buy for them.

Somehow I can’t buy this $9.99 Snack Sample Box a second time by using a credit on my account due to “a limited availability of this item”. Anybody else having this problem? Am I doing something wrong or I just have to buy some other box (the rest of them are priced higher) and pay more?

I may be the only one who got burned on this but I bought the luxury sample box. They attached my cedit to a $92 bottle of perfume that I didn’t like. Called and they never seemed to be able to get it released. Have about a week left before I kiss my credit goodby…So my experience has not been as good as the others with this, and I would not recommend because everything in it was something I could have gotten free at a department store.

If we did the credit on the beauty/hygiene sample box can we also receive the credit on the snack box or is it one time across the board on the sample boxes. Sorry lots of fine print on these. Thx in advance!

Can we use the credit to buy another of these boxes, making it essentially a buy 1 get 1 free deal?

You can only use it on these boxes, as noted in the post. So, yes, it’s basically BOGO.
