Caesars Sends Out Survey Regarding New Card Benefits

Caesars Rewards has sent out an e-mail to cardholders regarding possible changes to the Caesars Rewards credit card. The major things under consideration are:

  • Introduction of dining credit ($40/$50) when you make at least one purchase in a calendar year
  • New category earning bonuses (e.g 4x points on Caesars properties)

There was also some ranking questions regarding new benefits such as streaming credits, Uber credits etc. This seemed to be a fairly standard survey so I wouldn’t be banking on any changes actually being made.

I signed up for this card a year ago and went to Vegas with it this past July. Caesars only let me redeem the points from it at $0.005 per point, instead of the $0.01 they imply. It doesn’t matter to me what features they give this card if they’re going to value their points at close to Hilton or Radisson levels. Sock drawer. Period.

Depends on where you redeem. Ever since Eldorado bought Caesars, they have been charging a redemption rate of 2:1 – sometimes worse – at restaurants they do not own. There are still plenty of places to redeem them (as of now) at the .01 valuation. More info can be found at https://www.caesars.com/myrewards/earn-and-redeem/on-location

can’t they be redeemed at 1 cpp at restaurants at Caesars properties?

I wasn’t there to eat, and if I want to earn at least a penny a point at a restaurant i can use almost any other card. My MLife card generates 1 cpp for gambling, so I assumed the Caesars would too. I also didn’t cash out – it transferred to my Caesars payers card at 0.5 cpp.

If you want to simply cash-out, it’s at the $0.005/point rate. The $0.01/point rate is for most restaurant/hotel-related redemptions though, as Mike notes, some redemption rates are worse.

Also, agree the number of point/tier credit bonus promotions has decreased dramatically in recent months.

I have not checked to see if my husband got the email or not. I would say that this card used to be good when it regularly offered bonus categories. Since it stopped the offers after the Eldorado takover, it’s the sock drawer for this card. Bring back the bonuses and we will use it again.
