Capital One Miles Can Be Transferred Between Accounts

Yesterday it became possible to transfer Capital One miles to airline partners at a 2:1.5 or 2:1 rate. One thing both reader Andrew & Frequent Miler pointed out is that it’s possible to transfer miles between Capital One accounts/cards. If you’re transferring between your own cards then the process can all be done online, if your transferring between accounts (e.g between spouses or family members) you need to call in (use the number on the back of your card). Frequent Miler does a good job of explaining why transferring miles between accounts might be useful, but feel free to share any other uses in the comments as well.

I love Emirates. This is great! I was waiting for a long time for them to be added to the credit card transfer partners. If only there wasn’t that 6/24 rule and the 3 credit union pulls. Hmmmm

Transferring Venture miles between accounts isn’t new. My player 2 and I both had Capital One Venture cards earlier this year. As soon as she earned her sign up bonus we were able to transfer all of her miles to my account AND we didn’t have to call in; we did it online in less than five minutes. After initiating the transfer, if memory serves, her miles showed up in my account within a business day. Very simple and painless process, I wish all of the airline and hotel cards made it that easy to transfer between friends/families.

Or Amex. There’s a marketplace for them in the Australian flavor of membership Rewards. Idk why they don’t. The economic activity resulting in the MR points already occurred

I second this experience, so I was wondering why this came up just now.

I’d be more interested in if this means we could transfer Savor cash back points into Venture, similar to how chase works.

Does this mean that you can use Venture “miles” for statement credit instead of travel purchases by transferring to Spark? This definitely raises the floor for the value of those points (though obviously transfer to airline miles has increased value potential if you find something you need). With cash, you get 1 cpp and then have the potential to invest immediately.
