Capital One has launched the ‘Discover it Secured Cash Back Credit Card‘. Applications for this card were previously stopped on June 2, 2026 due to the transition to Capital One. The structure seems to be the same as the old Discover it Secured card but you can now have a refundable deposit as low as $49 (previously this was $500). Card basics are as follows:
- No credit score required
- No annual fee
- You need to make a refundable deposit ($49 minimum). Your credit limit is the amount you deposited or $200, whichever is higher.
- Card earns at the following rates:
- 5% cash back on rotating categories
- 1% cash back on all other purchases
- Cashback match for your first cardmember year
This card is one of, if not the best secured card as it comes with a solid rewards program and no predatory fees. It’s nice to see that Capital One hasn’t nerfed this card with the acquisition. Card can graduate to an unsecured card as well and when/if this happens the security deposit is refunded.
