Cardcash: Extra 4% Off Target, Exxon, Toys R Us, Nordstrom, Cole Haan

The Offer

  • Get an extra 4% off Target,Exxon, Toys R Us, Nordstrom, and Cole Haan with coupon code: GRABDEALS at checkout.
  • Target ends up around 7% off total
  • Exxon ends up more than 6% off total
  • Toys R Us around 11% off total

What’s awesome is that Chase Ink cards have been earning 5x at Cardcash as well, both direct purchases and those paid with Paypal, and this can make the deal particularly interesting.

Our Verdict

The Target ones are going fast!

I used the Sunshine Rewards portal on the last deal for an extra 1% and eventually the extra 1% came through! (Only on orders $1k $750 or less.) If you use my Sunshine Rewards referral link, I think you’ll also get a $5 bonus for signing up (and I will too). Note you do need $10 to be able to cash out.

Do not use the Sunshine Rewards portal. It is one of the sleaziest web sites I have seen. Once you become a member, you are enrolled in your email list. If you want to unsubscribe from the email list, your account will be closed without warning. This is the hard lesson I learned. As a result, I lost all earnings. I emailed them using an address provided on their web site, but then received an automatic reply saying that the mailbox was unmonitored.

No cap on sunshine. I have gone well over the 1k. But card cash is very shady. Almost 25% fraud rate on my orders. They do zero authentication on cards they sell. I have ordered GC that were drained many months ago. They do always refund but I have already over 30 card cash charges on my ink with over 10 refunds.

I bought about $8k worth of Target gift cards from this deal. There were a total of 4 gift cards, $80 each, that were not valid, so not as bad as your experience. The cards didn’t show $0 balance, they just didn’t work. My guess is that the seller entered the wrong numbers.

I’m worried about fraud on the gift cards too so right after purchase, I went to Target to redeem all the gift cards. See my above comment about the hassle of having to enter each gift card to the mobile site and print screen all the gift cards.

The other thing I did was purchase all gift cards with rounded numbers ($200, $100, $80, $50). I figured there might be less fraud with these gift cards as there were a huge number of them at the time Chuck posted the deal. Probably bulk resellers that are not likely to commit fraud. I did not receive any gift cards with $0 balance or less that what was advertised.

As a followup on the 4 x $80 Target gift cards I got that didn’t work. I emailed customer service and turned out they mistyped the number and sent me the correct info. Makes me wonder why they would be “typing” in the numbers in the first process. Did the seller mail in the physical card and not provide gift card info?

And nope, there was no verification process in place.

Chuck, I bought a number of Target gift cards yesterday through Cardcash. It’s very inconvenient Target removed the ‘combine’ feature for combining multiple gift cards. I thought printing out the gift cards for shopping in-store would be faster than to add each card to the mobile gift card page. Unfortunately, Target register doesn’t quite recognize the barcodes issued by Cardcash. The system asks for an event # and the only way to do get that is to manually enter the card info in the little Target handheld device (or Target mobile app).

I didn’t want to hold up the line, so I stood in one corner and manually entered all my gift cards into my Target account via http://m.target.com/giftcards/sign-in. This creates a different barcode that the register can recognize. To speed up the process during check out, I took a screenshot of every gift card for faster access and scanning. Internet is spotty at the Target locations I frequent.

It was indeed a tedious process, but maybe you might want to mention this a tip to your readers next time you post about Target gift cards. Electronic gift cards don’t scan properly in-store, so it’ll save time if people add the gift cards to the mobile site, take a screenshot/print screen of the barcode, and use that during check out.

Now a $750 limit on Sunshine. Check the T+C modification.

Thx! Used your link!

There is a Cashback Cat site that used to cash back for Cardcash as well? I found the site and signed up but saw that Cardcash is temporarily not working. Same rate, but higher sign up bonus.

Chuck – I used your Sunshine Rewards link for CardCash.

Quick question: is the $1000 limit per order uncapped or is it a total lifetime payout limit?

Happy to help. This is a great blog. Any guess as to how long this deal will run?

Don’t’ know why but any orders I used my INK card with gets cancelled, regardless if I use it directly or through Paypal. When I called in they said “try another payment form”. That’s as much as I could get out of two CSR’s I’ve spoken with. argh!

Can I still combine target gift cards online?

They removed the “Combine Cards” link from my account. It’s too bad because that’s the best way to prevent your cards from being drained after you’ve bought them.
