Chase Hyatt Changes: New 40,000 Offer Available & Two Free Night Offer Still Available

Update: You can get the 40k + $50 + 5k offer here (need to log in).

As we informed readers of the Chase Hyatt bonus has had it’s bonus changed from two free nights to 40,000 points as expected. Unfortunately the best offer on that card is currently 40,000 points after $2,000 in spend and 5,000 for adding an authorized user. It’s still possible to get the two free night bonus by using this link.

Our Verdict

If you wanted the two free night offer I sincerely hope you already got it and got the additional $50 bonus like I told you to. If not and you still prefer the two free night bonus, do it now before it disappears. If you do prefer the 40,000 point offer I’d be tempted to wait unless you have an immediate need for the points as it looks like 40,000 points will be the base bonus and I wouldn’t be surprised to see an offer come with a $50 statement credit as well.

New data point on churning Hyatt cards
I had the card for over 2 years. And, it’s been over 2 years since I received the 2 free night award.
So, I cancelled my card and waited for it to show cancelled on my webpage for Chase cards.

Just got a letter and confirmed by phone. Chase won’t recognize as cancelled until it reports to credit bureau on July 13. I will have to submit new application and will miss the chance to get 2 free nights instead of their newer award bonus.

Just sharing.

We have received your request for a Chase credit card. We’ll let you know our decision by U.S. mail. This could take up to 30 days.

Thank you for choosing Chase.

The 40K has a big advantage that the points dont expire!

Can’t we get the $50 from here? When you log in, it shows the 40,000 points plus the $50 offer https://www.hyatt.com/gp/en/account/sign_in_chase.jsp?refererURL=/hyatt/chase/ICOffer.jsp

Looks like no 5000 points for adding authorized user with this link?

Hi Bob — correct – and that may be just fine for some, yet for those of us wishing for the 2 free night promo (AND the $50) option, that’s now apparently history Compounding the error of missing the June 29th cut-off, the cut-off for signing up for the 10% point rebate (if you had the card) was June30th….

Thanks again William for letting us know about the offer — I did have it in the back of the mind that the promo ran out “end of June.” Didn’t catch that it was June 29th. (Yes, sour grapes —
so very Hyatt-like, akin to the bad english “discoverist” schtick.)
