Chase Hyatt Upgrade Offer: 3,500 Points

The Offer

  • Chase is offering some cardholders 3,500 bonus points if they upgrade to the new World of Hyatt card. You must also spend $1,500 or more by June 30th, 2019.

The Fine Print

  • Must spend $1,500 by June 30th, 2019

Our Verdict

When the new card first launched an upgrade bonus of 2,000 points was offered, so this is slightly better than that but only slightly. If you have any questions about doing this upgrade, I’d recommend through this post.

Got an offer today from Chase for 5,000 points after any purchase. Offer ends on 9/30/19.

$20 more per year doesn’t seem to be worth it, but they seem to offering a near free night 5k at Hyatt redeems plenty of rooms in midwestern cities. I’ll probably keep the card at $75 forever until they kick me off.

I’m getting upgrade emails but no bonus just the look you’ll get 4x points on Hyatt purchases! I’ll keep my original until Amex scoops them up lol

So weak lol, Chase should take a look at Amex if they’re going to offer people upgrade.

I hope Hyatt join Amex, since clearly chase hates it.

I got this too, but I have no plan on spending at least $15k to get a free night certificate or spend to get elite night credits, so it’s useless for me. I’ll just stay with my existing card. If they ever offer at least 50k points to upgrade even if the spend is $20k, then yes.

Got the upgrade email – no bonus points offered. No thanks, Chase.

Off topic – My old Hyatt card’s annual fee is due in 2 weeks, possible to get the anniversary free night before canceling the card?

Yes.

That’s what I did, waited until it posted before upgrading. My AF just came up and I received free night. Then I upgraded because I like the free night at 15k spend with new card. But when I did it the old upgrade offer expired and I got nothing for upgrading.
I’ll SM them and ask for a match since I just did this two weeks ago. Maybe I’ll get lucky.

Did you pay the annual fee and then they refunded or you received the anniversary night before paying?

I paid the AF and then they refunded. I haven’t seen the new AF for the upgraded card post yet.

The upgrade offer on this card is still pathetic. It really is unbelievable. I have to give Amex credit again for being the best issuer for their Hilton upgrades.

Got this offer. Not worth the increased annual fee. I did upgrade the Marriott card for a 50k point upgrade bonus.
