Chase INK Preferred Pay Yourself Back Categories: Shipping, Internet, Phone, Cable

Update 9/29/22: the Pay Yourself Back categories have been extended through 12/31/22 for 1.25% on the INK Plus/Preferred and for 1.10% on the INK Cash/Unlimited. The categories are Phone, Internet, Cable, with the Shipping category added back as an additional category beginning on 10/1/22. (ht TPG)

Update 6/28/22: Pay Yourself Back on the INK Preferred has extended the 1.25x cashout for Internet, Cable and Phone services until 9/30/2022. (ht AirDreamer2) On the other INK cards, the 1.1x cashout for those categories has been extended as well.

Update 10/1/21: They’ve extended PYB on INK cards through December 31, 2021. They’ve also added Advertising as a PYB category on the INK Preferred card and they’ve removed the Home Improvement category.

Original Post:

The Chase INK Business cards have extended their Pay Yourself Back program. On the Business Preferred and Business Plus cards, points will be worth 25% more (1.25¢), and on Business Cash and Business Unlimited worth 10% more, towards the following categories:

  • Internet, cable, and phone services
  • Contributions to eligible charities
  • (Preferred/Plus cards only): Shipping
  • (Preferred/Plus cards only): Advertising purchases made with social media sites and search engines
  • (Preferred/Plus cards only): Home improvement

The new INK categories are useful since they already earn a bonus rate on internet/phone charges, though you’ll do better if you have a Sapphire Reserve card with 1.5 cents back. Chase Sapphire Reserve and Preferred were already extended through September and already have their categories set as well through September.

I no longer have the 1.1% PYB option for Telephone and Shipping on my Ink Cash, only 25% for charity. I wonder if this didn’t get added for Q3 or if it’s delayed due to the holiday weekend.  Chuck any insight?

I see that now my Chase Ink Business Plus PYB for internet, cable, and phone, as well as shipping is extended to 3/31/23. Charities PYB still expires on 12/31/22.

What’s the current status of PYB for CSR?

Edit:

Nevermind, just saw the other thread.

If I use my Chase UR points for PYB for the AF as it is coming up, then credit the funds to my checking account and then downgrade my card getting the AF refunded, would this work?

Yawn. They really couldn’t come up with anything new? No ad spend or shipping again? Boo.

I’m surprised they extended it at all. I bet this will be the last extension then the program will disappear.

On my business cards, PYB 10% on Internet, etc. has been extended through 6/30/2022. Charity is still 25% through end of year.

On my CSP, it’s still just the AirBNB (thru 6/30) and Charity (through EOY).

On Freedom and Freedom Flex… nothin.

Keep in mind that the Cracker Barrel 25k VGC per day limit is also per store, so if you have multiple locations in your area, you should be able to do this separately at each one.
