Our Verdict

There are two other offers you should be aware of:

This 80k offer is pretty common, usually coming around a couple of times a year at least. If you’re considering applying for this card, I’d recommend reading about these things you should know about Chase first.

My Chase Marriott card was approved and I have reached the bonus spent and then received a letter from chase saying, SINCE OUR RECORDS SHOW THAT YOU HAVE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF THIS OFFER OR A SIMILAR OFFER WITH IH THE PAST 2 YEARS, YOUR ACCOUNT IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE THE PREMIUM.
I has a CHASE Ritz carlton before. is this why am not eligible for Marriott

My wife and I want to each apply for the Marriott Personal card and my wife would also apply for the Marriott Business card. We need to do this before the 5 new cards in 24 month rule shuts us out of Chase co branded cards. When are you guessing that will happen? Our last apporama application date was more than 91 days ago. However we each had one Chase card that took 3 weeks wait for approval. I got British Airways and she got IHG. Is it important or wise to wait 91 days from the Chase delayed approval date instead of the application date. Or do you think we can apply now without hurting our approval chances?

Hi, How would you rank the current and past offers from BEST to WORST for value?
1-get $100 credit after 1st purchase; 40k MR bonus after $2k spend; 1st AF waived,
2-get nothing; 80k MR bonus after $3k spend; 1st AF NOT waived.
3-get $150 credit after 1st purchase; 40k MR bonus after $2k spend; 1st AF waived,
4-get nothing; get 50k MR bonus after $2k spend; 1st AF is waived.
5-get nothing; get 70k MR bonus after $2k spend; 1st AF is waived.
6-get $200 marriot gift card and 50k MR bonus after $3k spend; 1st AF is waived.
I’d think 6, 5, 3, 1, 4, 2? (As I find MR worth no more than 0.50cents).

I feel like you’ll be waiting a long time, now that they know theres a run on Chase Cards (5-24 Rule) and this is already better than their ‘standard’ offer, AND better than the other 2 better offers… which MIGHT come back. But by the time they do, most people will be SoL due to new rules.

My wife currently has the Marriott Rewards Visa, and I am an authorized user (though it was applied for solely under her name & ss number). If I applied for the 70k offer under my name and ss number, would Chase still allow me to get the bonus on this card even though I’m an AU on my wife’s card?

Chase has 2 reasons not to honor the offer; 1) you applied after the expiration date of Jan 31, 2016; 2) you were not directly targeted for the offer. (Which means they could give you the standard offer of 50k Marriott rewards with 1st year annual fee waived).

I applied for the 50k + $200 on 2/3 and will let you know if I get the bonus – I didn’t actually see the 1/31 expiration when I applied, I was going off a list that didn’t display that.

not sure why you say the best offer (acc to you) is no longer available… the landing page still appears to be valid, as well leads to a working app link – https://creditcards.chase.com/a1/marriottpremier/50P200GC3KPHDM

not sure if Chase will honor the offer or not, since there is a date restriction in place of 1/31/16 … I’m also guessing its some sort of affiliate link? anyways, its still active… if one wanted this card and is eligible, should we pull the trigger w/the $200 Marriott GC/55k bonus/AF waived offer?

I think I’ll try it on my next app w/Chase. cause yeah it ‘loads’ up fine anyways … and for that matter the 77.5k w/AF waived landing page also loads/app works even tho in your linked post you said that it expired 12/31/15

either Chase IT is really sloppy… or they dont care… or they are tricking us and might not honor it… or Chase marketing is having a field day tryna figure out what actually works & what doesnt while the offers dont really expire even with a hard end date printed… or they all work??

Neither of those better links worked for me since the 12 of Feb this year… Tho the ‘offer page’ shows up in some, you can’t actually hit APPLY without it going to 404.

… so 80K offer it is, combined with an IHG Phone App today.
