Chase Offers: $8 Cashback with $3 Amazon FreeTime Subscription (+ Free Disney Headphones)

Update 7/3/19: You can currently get 3 months for $2.99. In addition you get a free pair of Disney headphones, link here (our affiliate link). Make sure you select the 3 month option

Update 7/2/19: Deal is back, unknown end date.

Update 3/28/19: Deal is back and valid until April 10th, 2019

The Offer

Check your Chase Offers and Bank Amerideals for the following offer:

  • Get $8 back when you signup for Amazon FreeTime subscription.

You’ll get a free month trial and then you have to pay for one $2.99 month fee in order to get this bonus.

The Fine Print

  • Expires April 10th, 2019
  • Renewal fees start at $2.99 after first month free trial
  • Offer applies to purchase of a new subscription. Not valid on subscriptions bundled with physical device purchases.
  • New customers only.
  • Offer valid one time only.

Our Verdict

Terms do require keeping one month of paid subscription. Easy $5 moneymaker, regardless (possibly slightly less profit due to taxes). Especially worthwhile if you find FreeTime useful – it gives you access to thousands of kid-friendly books, movies, TV shoes, games, and apps.

The offer is likely found on Bank Amerideals and other banks too since they all share the same back end, let us know if you see it there.

Appreciate if you signup for FreeTime with our Amazon affiliate link.

How would this work if the offer expires 3/22 but you’re not charged until after the first free month? That would be 3/27 at the earliest

Yoni
Yoni

Zack it’s my screenshot and that expiration was based on my adding offer. But it’s not a problem as all you have to do is sign up or subscribe “BY 3/22” if you redeemed or your offer was added to your offers on same day as mine. But payment is required by 3/22 only sign up -in my case others should be different dates based on date offer rolls out to people’s accts.

so even though nothing will be charged on my chase, as long as i have that card as my default payment method and sign up I should be good to go?

Ann
Ann

It says you must let one month’s charge go through to receive the $8 back. You don’t get $8 free, you get $5.01 net.

I know I meant nothing charged on my chase until after the offer expires

Check your email for “Hurry Peter, your Chase Offers are expiring soon!”

We got them for various personal cards and you don’t have to log in to add I just booked marked the page for each card faster in Chase app.

it will be something like this link

Wouldn’t you only have gotten that email if you added the offer to your card?

Yoni
Yoni

MisterBill The email is from Chase for targeted offers on certain Chase personal cards. The link in email is for that card(s) depending on how you logins are grouped/setup. Link is faster for checking and adding than with app or browser portal for account control panel.

That worked! Thanks!

Didn’t get it. I did find a 10% offer for Planet Fitness up to $2. Sadly, they do not take credit cards for monthly fees.

Ann

I guess that’s only good for buying stuff at the front desk, then. (bags, shirts, drinks, etc)

MisterBill
MisterBill

Ah, good point. There was a sign recently saying they had gone cash-free and you needed to put a card on file to buy stuff.

The $2.99 price is only for Prime members. If you don’t have Prime, it costs $4.99/mo.

welp, thanks for that. makes this a waste of time.

Not on my 3 chase cards. Good offer though.

Have this on my Prime CC.

Also had an offer for 15% on Prime now orders up to $11 back. One time use. Will use it in combo with Prime now slow ship credit.

Does anybody know if you can just skip the trial and go ahead and pay for the first month, speeding up the cash back redemption?

I just want to make sure: is Chase Offers only available on the Chase mobile app?

Amy
Amy

That’s what their website says. (I have no firsthand knowledge as I haven’t yet used the app.)

Rob

How can you make it charge you? Obviously if the month is free and the deal ends 04/10 for those of us who just signed up it won’t process the payment for a month and the deal will be expired.

In all of your free time, you will have to remember to cancel it after you are charged for 1 month. Sounds like a winner.

Either way, my kids will be excited about wearing new shoes.

In my Prime account there’s an offer for a 3-month Family Plan for $2.99, charged immediately. Also comes with free Disney kids’ headphones.

Did it trigger the chase offer?

Avi
Avi

Hmmmm, how do I find out?

RC
RC

Well the terms just say “Offer applies to purchases of a new subscription to Amazon Freetime Unlimited”.

My guess is Yes, it will work. And I am going to try it!

Avi
Avi

Yeah, the pending charge for $2.99 shows up on Chase as “AMZNFreeTime,” so I expect it to work.

I picked the headphones with the red bow. It was pretty cute. Will probably donate it.

Avi

I received the $8 Chase credit a week later, although I never received an email about the headphones.

Avi
Avi

So, I still never received the email, but was able to check out with 2 pairs of headphones for free.

Well, this is weird… Yesterday I got the trial and today I visited the link provided and was able to subscribe for 3 months, apparently just fine. But a few minutes later I got an email confirming my cancellation¿? And browsing around I went to the “Manage Subscription” section and it says “To turn off auto-renewal or cancel your FreeTime Unlimited subscription, please contact customer service online or call”

Edit: the email with the promotional headphones came anyway. Hopefully there’s no problem to cancel before the 3-months end.

When I did a similar promo last year, I did have to call to cancel, but it was quick. And unexpectedly, my $2.99 was refunded.

Be careful with this one.. I added the deal to my chase cards, but my default card is an Amex card and that card was charged for the purchase and I was not given an option. Complete waste of $3 and the only time I’ve had a loss from using this site. Make sure to change your default card to the correct card.

RC
RC

It prompted me to choose which card to used when I clicked the subscribe button in Amazon.

lenin1991
lenin1991

You only get prompted if you don’t have a one-click card set — if you do, it doesn’t ask

Thanks for the tip. To avoid this, I went into payment options in my account and made the relevant card the one I wanted to use “across Amazon.”
