[Expired] Chase Offers/BofA: Get 10%/15% Cashback at Hyatt House/Place (Max $38 Cashback)

Update 6/18/20: More people targeted.

The Offer

  • Earn 10% or 15% cash back on Hyatt House charges of $100 or higher ($38 cashback maximum).

People are reporting this on Chase cards. A number of banks use the same back end for these offers. This includes: Chase, Bank of America, Regions Bank, Suntrust Bank, BBVA, BB&T, PNC, Columbia Bank, Beneficial Bank, and Christian Community CU. You can read this post for more information. Now includes Chase as well.

The Fine Print

  • Offer valid one time only
  • Must be paid directly with merchant
  • Offer expires 8/3/20; payment must be completed by that date

Our Verdict

Hyatt House locations usually sell gift cards at reception and that normally triggers these types of offers as well. Max this out by spending $300.

15% back at “any Hyatt hotel” offer on my World of Hyatt up to $38 back. No offer on my other Chase or BOA cards.

Any data points on if buying an eGift card through Hyatt online triggers the credit? It seems doubtful, because the FAQ at the gift card website states purchases with a World of Hyatt card will earn 1 point per dollar spent (not 4). I called the closest Hyatt (Place) and they don’t sell Hyatt gift cards.

Online Hyatt GCs are processed by a 3rd party, which is why you only get 1 pt/$, so most likely will not trigger the offer

Has Hyatt fixed their problem with compromised cards yet?

I have a planned HP stay in two weeks and didn’t get targeted this time on Hyatt card, BoA, or any of my 5 other Chase, bummer.

I tried calling 5+ Hyatt place hotels in my area, to check if they sell gift cards, and all of them told me to purchase them online since they don’t sell it. Is this YMMV or am I doing something wrong?

definitely YMMV, but consider the offer is for Hyatt House/Place, and if you purchase a gift card from .com that probably wont card as either on your statement.

I believe it is usually the corporate owned locations that sell the gift cards. Franchise owned won’t.

This is a bit unrelated but I got question on BankAmeriDeal offers. So I have two BankAmeriDeals offers – 20% on AmazonFresh and 10% on Whole Foods. Recently I made a purchase on AmazonFresh to take advantage of the 20% cash back offer, but the purchase was coded as WholeFoods on BankAmeriDeal portal, and gives 10% cash back only (meaning I lost 50% of potential profit here). Is there a number I can call to have Bank of America fix this?

Great timing. Had the offer on my CSR. Previously booked a Points + Cash stay w/ a Check Out date of 02/15/20. I haven’t been charged for the stay yet. I’m assuming they’ll run the card at check in?

P2 had offers for Hyatt Place & Hyatt House on her CFU.

There’s also the same offer for Hyatt Place. I got both offers on my World of Hyatt credit card.
