[Expired] [Update] Chase Offers: Save Up To 30% At Staples (Business & Personal Offers)

Deal has expired, view more Staples deals by clicking here.

Update 3/3/20: Here’s a data point of this working online. Another.

The Offer

Chase just rolled out an offer for Staples on their business credit cards and checking account debit card:

  • Get $30 back when you spend $100 at Staples.
  • Others are seeing: get 20% back, up to $34.
  • There might be other iterations of this offer as well.

Separately, Chase also rolled out an offer on their personal card (this offer is the standard one that comes out every couple of months on personal cards):

  • Get 10% back at Staples, up to $17.
  • There might be other iterations which have different caps or different percentages.

The Fine Print

  • Valid through 3/23/20.

Our Verdict

The business offer seems to be showing for many people (everyone?). The offer on personal cards might be more targeted.

Not clear in the terms if these offers work online or only in-store. For the regular personal offer we have one data point indicating it only works in-store, so I’m operating under that impression for both of these offers. Update: here’s a data point of it working online.

These are obviously terrific deals since Staples stores sell gift cards. You can easily buy an Amazon or Visa gift card and save 10-30% with these offers. Plus, if the offer is on your INK Plus/Cash card, you’ll get 5x on the purchase as well. Also stacks beautifully the coming week (2/23-2/29) which Staples is offering no-fee Visa gift cards in store.

Thanks to all those who sent this in.

Thinking more now was this supposed to be $100 in one shot or multiple amounts totaling to $100 would work too?

Late DP here… mine is $20 back offer on an old skool Ink card. There are no Staples in my state, so I did a single $300 VGC. Card charged 12 days ago, I’ve already received and liquidatee, so I was guessing it was a no-go… but I got an email this morning saying I earned the $20.

It worked for online purchase for me. Got the $30 back offer on Chase ink. Purchased a $100 GC at staples.com on Feb.27,2020. $30 credit was posted on Mar. 02, 2020.

I’ve never previously had need to do this, but can the additional cardholders on my Chase Ink register for online access? And, if so, would using their cards trigger Chase Offers, like this Staples deal? Each Chase business card has its own unique cardnumber, unlike on their personal cards. The additional cardholders on my AMEX cards have their own AMEX online accounts to trigger AMEX Offers, so would this work the same?

whether it is the AU card or the primary card being used to do the transaction, the offer will be triggered – to the primary account which receives the offer.
Chase does not have separate log in for AU cards even though the business AU cards have different card number. There is no different log in for them.

Nitpicky point, but you can create a login for an employee, however it’s a separate process and doesn’t yet have any value for the offers. The employee doesn’t see any offers for their card – as you said, it’s all controlled by the account and not by a person like AmEx does. So no point in making an online account for AU unless you legit have someone else to handle your cash flow.

Same for me. When I look at the offers on my CCs and click the Redeemed tab, it shows the offers as redeemed (with a date one day earlier than my purchase, kinda weird), so I’m confident that they’ll post.

I just used on line and got the Email from Chase:
CONGRATS! YOU JUST EARNED A STATEMENT CREDIT
You have successfully redeemed one of your Chase Offers. Your statement credit will be applied to your account in 7-14 business days.

So looks like it works for gift cards on line.

Got the offers on all business cards – Inks, Marriott and United, as well as on business checking accounts.

I dont know how the offer works on the checking account, other than using the debit card from that checking account? I gather you are not writing a check at Staples for the purchase, but the debit card transaction would be to the checking account therefore trigger the offer?

We have one that is $10/$100 and another one 10% on $100 or more, up to $17.

Has anyone done the offers on the checking accounts?

Yes, we just used the debit card for an in store purchase. Offer showed redeemed two days later.

I have 2 $30 off $100 on my Chase Business cards.
Can I split the payment like every other store when I buy the $200 Visa?
Get $60 back?

I would think so, since the offer goes by the card, and the split payment would show each card being charged $100.

At least that is how we have done on $20/$100.

I got this offer on my Ink Business card… FWIW, the Chase rep that I messaged (Elaine) said that this offer is only good for IN-STORE purchases.
