The Fine Print

  • Offer is valid December 17, 2018 (12:01 am ET) through December 25, 2018 (11:59 pm ET) or until supplies run out, whichever occurs first.
  • Discount applies automatically when using Chase Pay
  • Limit one $7 promotional discount in a single qualifying transaction, per user and per qualifying transaction, regardless of total ticket quantity in order.
  • Offer cannot be combined with any other offer or discount.
  • If the price of the ticket this promotion is applied to is for less than $7, there is no remaining balance, and the user is not entitled to a credit or cash back of the remaining promotion amount.

Our Verdict

Would be cool if there’s something to get free with this deal. Regardless, it’s a nice discount. This is likely only useful for those without MoviePass or Sinemia.

Thanks, but this offer has now expired. It was showing an ad in my profile, and then it disappeared just now after linking my Chase Pay account and trying to check out. The offer link above has been changed to show it is expired.

Does the ChasePay discount show before you actually make the purchase? Or do you have to have faith that chase will apply the discount?

Once you select Chase pay as a payment type it discounts total by $7. (Will only apply against ticket(s), – not toward convenience fee.)

You can get total down to ~1.50 Per ticket depending upon the details of you purchase. (Cost/# of tickets, what discounts you are applying, etc.)

Thanks DOC. Getting the convenience fee waived is tricky. In the end I found someone to give me their account number for AMC Premier. Easy to get 2 free tickets since I’m a new user. (My theater has some cheap early bird showtimes even though AMC $5 tuesday’s exclude the next two holiday weeks.) I got 2 tickets to Holmies (Sherlock Holmes Parody) completely free.

Other things I tried and considered:

1. Facebook is a no-go. Theoretically, Facebook waives the ticket fee for ATOM, however there is no way to checkout with ATOM currently. You are only given Fandango or AMC as checkout options. (I even went to my ATOM profile, linked Facebook and restarted the process.)

2. If you have a cheap theater like mine the following idea works nicely: You can waive the booking fees for min 4 ticket purchase with a free AMC stubs insider membership***. My AMC has the early showing of Aquaman for $5.29. I found everything works out best by applying any new member discount code prior to applying the Chase Pay to the order.

$21.16 – 4 Tickets to Aquaman
– $7 Chase Pay
– $5 discount for buying 2 Aquaman (Atom special. Applies automatically)
– $7 New Member discount code.
(Convenience Fee Waived for buying 4 tickets.)
= $2.16 for 4 Movie tickets to Aquaman

***Note: AMC makes It a little difficult to find the free membership on their site now. They try to sign up everyone for the $19.95 / mo. A-list. Here is a direct link:

As stated above, the basic membership only waives convenience fees when purchasing 4 tickets. Really only useful if your theater has some cheap tickets like I posted above, or you don’t mind paying a little or buying all 4 tickets and having the purchase done.

I am kinda new to this chase pay thing. Just curious, can you buy the ticket from the chase pay app itself or you buy it from atom tickets app and somehow pay using chase pay?

Pay via Atom app. You will click Chase Pay as your payment option. And sign in and purchase, similar to PayPal if you have multiple Chase cards.

Nice deal! $5.29 for Aquaman on Xmas day. But how can you get rid of $1.50 convenience fee? The $7 off only covers the actual ticket price after I logged in on chase pay. Still pretty good!

If this works for Fathom Events tickets, then it’s still useful for MoviePass, etc subscribers. I was looking to see the WWI documentary.

It does. I used a Chase Pay one for last month to see a Fathom event movie and the $7 comes off. Atom doesn’t look that specific at movies, unless the coupon is for one particular movie.

If you sign up for an AMC Stubs account (free), then add your member number to Atom, you can get AMC Stubs pricing through Atom.

AMC Stubs has $5 ticket Tuesdays, even for new releases. They upcharge for things like IMAX or 3D, but it’s not that much more. Should be able to get a free ticket or two tickets for cheap if you don’t mind going on Tuesday.
