Our Verdict
Keep in mind Starbucks recently moved to a new rewards program, 150 stars is still enough for a free handcrafted beverage or breakfast sandwich. Although it used to cost only 125 Stars for any item at Starbucks. Good deal if you buy things from Starbucks anyway and can use the $20 credit normally. I was targeted via email and in the Starbucks app and didn’t get the Stars in the time stated (within 24 hours of load). I filled out the customer service contact form on Starbucks’ website and they fixed it for me.
I see the offer in app Inbox for both wifey and I. I even personally got the targetted e-Mail, loaded both accounts with $20 each through Chase Pay 04/25 and have yet to receive the 150 stars on either account.
I think it’s worth a call into customer service.
Edited to add: I called in and they added the stars to both accounts. It seems the problem is that the purchase does not show as Chase Pay on their end. I also noticed I did not get an e-Mail from Starbucks to confirm this recent reload as I usually get. Could just be some internal issue. I did mention that I could see the offer in app Inbox

Reloaded $20 yesterday. No points. Darn but I know I’ll spend the money anyway. No email or ad in the app.
I did not receive an email, but I found the offer on my Starbucks app. Points posted immediately after $20 reload via Chase pay
Loaded $20 via chase pay 24 hours ago and no points in my Starbucks app. Never got an email or saw an offer in the chase pay app. Would have loaded my account anyway so no big loss. Have gotten the bonus this way before.
I did not receive any email from Chase or Starbucks, still reloaded with $25 and did not receive any stars after waiting 24 hours. I believe this is targeted.
Loaded yesterday morning and still no points today. At this point I am assuming it is Targeted and moving on. I did not get any email from Chase or Starbucks telling me about the promo.
Added $20 last night; no points this morning. Did not receive any emails about the offer.
I have gotten points previously for using Chase Pay, fyi. I guess it’s possible that it could work for people who have never received a bonus previously? Might be worth the risk if you go to Starbucks anyway…
