Walmart announced today that Walmart+ membership ($98/yr) is included when you pay for Sam’s Club Plus membership ($120/yr). You can also sign up for a special $120 Walmart+ membership and get Sam’s Club Plus included.
Note: only the Sam’s Club Plus membership includes Walmart+. The lower tier club membership ($60/yr) does not include Walmart+.
There are often deals to get Walmart+ for half price ($49/yr) and to get standard Sam’s Club membership for just $20-$30. (Here is a current deal to get Walmart+ with $49 back from AmEx if you enroll in the AmEx Offer.)
And so overall this isn’t a smoking deal unless you put a lot of value the higher tier of Sam’s Club membership.
However, there is one interesting angle to look at:
You can sign up for this combo package on either the Walmart site or the Sam’s Club site. Unconfirmed, but it seems likely that if you sign up on the Walmart site and use your enrolled AmEx card, you’ll get $49 back. If that works, the total cost would be $120 – $49 = $71. That’s a nice deal for the annual Walmart+ membership and the annual higher tier Sam’s Club Plus membership. Far as I can tell, it’s processed as a Walmart+ signup, not as a Sam’s signup. But again, this needs to be verified.
