Referral Program

My referral link

They have a referral program. If you refer a friend they will get $10 off their first order and you will also get $10 off. Keep in mind this requires using a promo code so I assume invalidates portal cash back and also restricts you from using another promo code. My referral link here for those that want to use it. You can share your own links in this linked post.

Our Verdict

I assume this is available on the same cards that the Walmart/Best Buy offers are:

  • Chase Sapphire Reserve (no link for this card currently. I’d be surprised if it wasn’t being offered but might make sense to wait) Not available on the Reserve
  •  Chase Freedom
  •  Chase Freedom Unlimited
  •  Chase Sapphire Preferred

Reader Jennifer Weems found this offer on facebook. Now it’s just a matter of finding some items to maximize this deal with. Best portal rate is 16%.

  • Lowest denomination gift card is $25 (although it looks like you can actually buy a $20 despite this). According to Payments Workshop you’re limited to one GC per order, but can combine multiple GC into a single GC by asking Update: Reps are saying that combining gift cards is not  possible. No guarantee gift cards will work.
  • Free shipping on orders over $49. You can also get free shipping via ShopRunner.

If gift cards count then this is easy money/free eBags credit.

Thank you so much!! Ebags consistently has great prices on Kelty products. If you spend time tailgating or watching kids sports (soccer, baseball) the low loveseat chair is AWESOME!!!

FYI. From the ebags website, “Unused balances of eBags eGift Cards and Gift Cards will remain active for a period of five [5] years from the date of purchase.”. Five years is a long time, but most gift cards are good for much longer. Might want to keep that in mind if you are holding for an unknown future use.

I bought 2 items one with each chase card. The items are already shipped but now the charges went from pending to completely disappearing from my credit cards. Did that happen to anyone else? I assume they will reappear later.

Technical issue:

Can’t get the Chase pay button on the Ebags checkout page to respond – I click on it, but nothing happens. Have tried on various browsers and mobile with same result.

The Amex and Mastercard checkout options seem to to work fine.

I am outside the U.S, but have tried with VPN. (Of course making sure I’m on the Ebags US site)

Anyone experienced the same or have any ideas?

I just checked out with Chase Pay two transactions. There were a few hiccups, but not your issue.

I was able to check out using chase pay when I’m buying a gift card. But when I went to buy an item, I couldn’t log into chase pay. What I ended up doing was adding a gift card to my cart, sign into chase pay, remove the gift card and then add the item within the same session (this worked on the second try).

Bought a $20 eGift Card twice (one paid with Freedom, the other with CSR, both via Chase Pay) and I didn’t get the 2,000 UR Points. Guess it doesn’t work for Gift Card Purchases?

Alright let me clarify. I did apparently get the 2,000 points on the Freedom Card, and not on the Sapphire Reserve Card. And it’s my bad to not read everything carefully, because on the Promo Page, the Reserve Card is not stated indeed.

However, I called the CSR Hotline and talked and got into a heated argument (at this time, I didn’t realize that CSR was not included) and in the end I got the 2,000 points manually added as a one-time exception. After the call, I carefully went through the Promo Page and the information on this page as well and someone on SD also mentioned that CSR is not included, then I realized it’s my own mistake.

Lesson learned. It’s easy to assume that Sapphire means all the 3 card variants, clearly it’s not.

Only freedoms or sapphire gets the credit. NOT the Reserve. Should have read earlier comments.

So I think the trend seems to be if you use that link from Facebook, you can use any of the Chase cards on your listed Chase Pay account….and if you use the card thats targeted in the email sent to you, you also get that bonus…..just make sure you dont use the same card for the Facebook link AND the targeted link.
