Our Verdict
They offered the same deal last year. Keep in mind:
- Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders get a 50% bonus when redeeming points for travel (1.5¢ per point).
- You can also transfer to travel partners at a 1:1 rate.
It’s also not really even a 20% bonus as you can’t even go through a portal or earn credit card rewards.

Correct. But the alternative is using a credit card to make the purchase and going through a portal. So it’s a 20% bonus on your points, but you need to compare it to another method of shopping at Apple.
Fair point. My UR are collecting dust for the forseeable future though. Different times, different calculus…
