The Offer
- United is offering their Chase United Visa Rewards cardholders 1,000 bonus United miles for simply connecting your card in the United MPX app.
To find the offer, open the MPX app (or download the app if you don’t have it already). It might require you to login anew. On the home screen, scroll down to see a tab with ‘United Visa Rewards’ > Enroll Now > Add a United Chase Visa Card.

The Fine Print
- To qualify for the one-time enrollment bonus, you must be a United Chase Visa Cardmember and enroll in United Visa Rewards on the United MileagePlus X app for the first time between January 1, 2019, and March 31, 2019.
- Please allow 5 business days after enrollment for the bonus miles to post to your MileagePlus account.
- Valid for any Chase United personal or business credit card, I believe.
Our Verdict
Easy way to get 1,000 free miles; even if you have no interest in the app itself, it shouldn’t take more than a couple of minutes. Again, this is only for United Chase Rewards cardholders.
This is part of a relaunch of the United MPX app. They’ve now added the ability to use the United Shopping portal from within the MPX app, and also they integrated the United card-link dining program from within the app. These enhancements might be useful for some as well.

This offer is back….albeit for only 500 miles. Per the email I got this morning:
“A mileage boost can be yours whether you’re at home or on the go. Simply enroll your UnitedSM Chase Visa® Card in United Visa Rewards through the MileagePlus X app and receive 500 bonus miles.”
Offer expires 8/31/20. I didn’t get my United Chase Visa card until early 2020 so would not have been targeted for the original offer in January, 2019.
Thank you! I also had not seen this offer. I have two interesting observations to share, given that my wife and I share a single United Mileage Plus Card (one of us is an Authorized User). We downloaded the app on our individual smartphones and each got the 1000 mile bonus. Hooray!
The other observation is that the iPhone Mileage Plus X app would not work at all unless I allowed Notifications. The app showed a “Continue” button that did absolutely nothing until I went into Settings and enabled Notifications.
Sure is nice to get both bonuses, and extend the expiration date. Thanks again!

FYI – I opened United app and was targeted for a Mileage Play. I am a Silver member with Chase United credit card with annual fee. Unfortunately, no trips until later in the year. Mileage Play Book and take a trip Book and take a trip on United or United Express® by January 31, 2019, spending at least $175 per trip. How to participate: • Member must register for this promotion on or prior to January 31, 2019. Only transactions initiated after registration and completed on or prior to January 31, 2019 will qualify toward satisfaction of the offer requirements. • Registrant must complete all activity specified in the offer to receive bonus award miles. You might want to make this a bit more clear for your readers: it’s NOT called “the MPX app”. If you search for “MPX”, “MPX app”, “United MPX”, “Chase MPX” etc — in fact ANYTHING with “MPX” in it — there will be NO results (at least in Apple’s iOS App store).
The app is called “MileagePlus”.
This will save people 10 minutes of time wasted searching in vain and a lot of head-scratching.
