Three readers reached out about a gift they received from email from IHG:
- Two readers got a link to claim Ambassador Status.
- One reader got a link to click to collect 50,000 IHG points.
I’m sure many are getting these gifts, and perhaps some other versions. Both of these have very nice value. I’ve only seen one report of the points offer, and a few of the Status offer, so that one is probably more prevalent. Not sure who they are targeting to send these out to, but keep an eye out to ensure you don’t miss it.
I got the Ambassador status gift. Although I don’t see it anywhere on my account. It probably has a different login I’m missing somewhere.
Not that I expect much from it. Ambassador seems only useful for paid stays and I almost exclusively use points and certificates and don’t think I’m likely to pay for any Intercontinental stays. We’ll see if it comes into play in Vienna next year.
I would have preferred 50k points.
It is always nice to get an unexpected gift of points or status. But what I really, really want is to have breakfast included for Spire Elite and/or club access.

noooope. plat thru credit card for 4 yrs. i used to stay a lot more (paid and points) but haven’t lately. have 2 different stays on points coming up.
Didnt get anything, well tbh I never get anything from IHG. Chips and bottled water at check in and thats it. First time in 6 years I let my Ambassador status expire.
On a positive note, I got AA EXP status from Hyatt Globalist, which is a lot more valuable 😀
