@William Charles @Chuck NO credit card funding, please.

Also, applicant should be ready to go to a branch location.

Rejected in branch. Chex sensitive especially towards recent accounts

You must be on a bank account road trip. How many Idaho ones did you get?

Davis

I now live in Idaho. I was able to open an ICCU account earlier and Keybank account, but I will need to slow down to get this one.

ShawntheShawn

Thank you for the DP. I planned to do this one sometime, but now I have changed my mind. But it is a soft pull, right?

I was denied before, when I was OOS.

Eric

Did you apply OOS before or after they added the $20 donation option? Were you denied for Chex?

Davis
Davis

Before in October when I tried to do the donation. I think I was rejected for just being OOS since I didnt get a Chex hit

It mostly depends on Manager/employee who is opening the account. Probably, this one is NOT “auto” chex-sensitive.

I don’t remember seeing another DP of someone getting rejected in-branch for Chex. It happened to me last year at Fulton. What are your stats like?

My stats were:

Past 36 months: 60
Past 30 months: 60
Past 24 months: 58
Past 18 months: 56

Past 03 months: 10
Past 01 months: 06

CK9 Did you try this one? You can open multiple high-yield checking accounts in one application. Membership eligibility seems to be nationwide because you can join by being a member of Idaho CapEd Foundation through a one time $20 membership fee.

Yes, applied. They want me to go to a branch with ID docs. Do not apply if you are OOS.

I found out about this offer from a different site last week and emailed the CU some questions but haven’t heard back yet.

I was about to call them when I thought of searching on DoC. I should have known there would be a post on it.

Did you still get charged the $20 or was the application tossed out?

ShawntheShawn

During the application, you will be asked if you want to be eligible for membership by joining Idaho CapEd Foundation through a donation. If the application is not approved, the account is not opened & funded, so I do not think the CU would still find a way to charge $20. Eric CK9

What form of electronic payment/deposit did people use, other than DD, to satisfy their criteria?

this one contradicts regarding direct deposit required vs. not…

Per their terms this shouldn’t be Idaho only, as one of the 4 criteria for being eligible for membership is becoming a member of the Idaho CapEd Foundation, which anyone can do through a one time $20 membership fee. However when I applied from out of state using this method I was told my identity couldn’t be verified online (even though I included a picture of my driver’s license in the initial application) and to come into a branch with my ID and social security card. I called and after talking to her manager the employee told me there was no way to verify identity outside of visiting a branch in person.

So, just to save others the hassle, yeah, you SHOULD be able to open this account out of state per their terms, but they won’t actually let you.

I was able to open from out of state and successfully got the $100 new checking reward

CapEd did not complete a hard pull when I opened my checking account. But, in my experience, even if you agree to enroll in paperless statements and have access to estatements, as required, they may still send the paper statement and invalid you from the promotional terms.

shouldn’t this be labeled Idaho, not Indiana??

Came here to say the same thing.
