The Offer

Direct link to offer

Card Details

  • No annual fee
  • Card earns at the following rates:
  • Complimentary Hilton Silver Status as long as you’re a cardholder
  • Fast track to gold status (four stays within 90 days of account opening or when you make $20,000+ purchases in each calendar year)
  • Annual loyalty bonus of 10,000 Hilton HHonors bonus points at end of each calendar year in which you spend $1,000 or more on stays with the Hilton Portfolio
  • Standard Visa Signature Benefits

Our Verdict

Normally you wouldn’t be eligible for this card if you’ve opened or close any other Citi Hilton cards (e.g this card or the Reserve card) within the last 24 months but this offer does not contain that restrictive language. If this rule doesn’t apply to you I’d recommend getting the Citi Hilton Reserve card instead as it comes with two free weekend nights and that’s a lot more valuable than 40,000 points (if you wanted points and no annual fee I’d just be patient as we regularly see 75,000 point offers on this card).

Be aware of are Citi’s application rules:

Also be aware that Citi will no longer issue Hilton cards from 2018 onwards. I’m hopeful that we will see more of these no 24 month language links leaked if American Express purchases the back book from Citi as they will likely want to inflate their cardholder numbers. As always if you are thinking of applying or have any questions, make sure you read through this list of things you should know about Citi credit cards first.

We also pointed out this offer to our newsletter subscribers in November of last year. Just reposting and making it public due to the Hilton news.

    Link doesn’t work.

  2. The Value Traveler says:

I currently have this card & its coming up to a year since I’ve had it….got 75k for getting it last year. I’ll cancel it now & wait for a 75k offer to appear & apply. I don’t think they are matching it if you apply for the 40k offer

    • dan says:

williams or anyone, we can potentially get approved for the same card within its family while still having the existing one, correct? any rate, any pros or cons to either keep or cancel the hilton acct before applying for another?

      • fathiss says:

Dan, My DP: I had the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select card that I held for 2 years. After paying the renewal fee for year 2 I appled for a new card (same exact one) a couple months back. I was approved and after completing the minimum spend I got the 60,000 bonus miles posted to account. I then cancelled my old card and they gave me back a prorated amount of the renewal fee (most of it since I was 2 months in). I didn’t expect anything back from the renewal fee so that was a bonus. Now my 2 year clock starts again…..
So, my shorter answer is I believe it would be the same for the Citi Hilton card. You can keep it and apply for a new one.

      • Deb says:

Yeah I applied for my second AAdvantage card 2 weeks after I was approved for my first. Was just approved for this card. Plan to do the same in 2 weeks and get a second one.

    • Fingers crossed the 75k offer with no language comes back.

  3. jack says:

quick questions, i had this card since 2014. but i dont want to cancel it.
can i apply for another one?

  4. Mark O says:

Anyone else getting an error when trying to submit?

  5. roguehiker says:

Yep, error code only, even when I try incognito.

    • roguehiker says:

Approved today via Jill’s Reddit link below, after applying last night and getting the dreaded “we need more info, please call” response. Must have been put on hold three times last night and then call dropped. Gave up for the night and tried again today. On hold three more times, but finally approved with nice CL. Thanks to Doc and Jill!

  6. Jill says:

Yes – link does not work for me either

  7. Fixed the link, sorry I am not very smart sometimes.

  8. mastervk says:

Approved for my 4th Citi Hilton card in last one year .

  9. MarcoPolo says:

So this basically mean ONE night at Hilton?
Also, the 24 month language doesn’t mean anything now since there will be no Hilton card offer by Citi in 24 month as they will exclusively be offered by Amex.

  10. John says:

I have this card and receive the 5th night free on reward stays which is the only reason I have kept it. This appears to be the same card but I dont see that listed as a card member benefit?

    • Rethink.... says:

That’s the other Citi Hilton card

    • K Johnson says:

It’s a benefit of the Hilton Honors program; you have it as a card member since the card comes with Silver status. From Hilton’s web site:

Silver, Gold and Diamond elite members will receive every 5th night free on Standard Room Reward stays of 5 nights or more (up to 4 free nights on a stay of 20 consecutive nights).

  11. Kent C says:

Question is what do you value Hilton points. 40,000 gets you a night in an average/nice hotel, maybe worth $200. Most sites are valuing Hilton points at .005 or .5 cents. So do you want a hard pull for $200? What’s your minimum bonus requirement on a pull? Mine’s at least double that.

  12. mord1 says:

Doc, How long do you think this link will be around, DW never had any citi hilton, I am thinking of applying for the reserve today and then in a week applying for this? thoughts?

  13. Mark O says:

Has Citi been honoring the other non 24 month offers

  14. clyn6 says:

Just tried the link in private window and in terms it says “This offer is valid for new accounts only.” SO this makes me think I would not qualify since I currently have this same credit card. Is this newly added or was it there all along and not enforced?

  15. Gordon says:

I just submitted an application using this link and received the following message “We’re very sorry, but the page you are looking for cannot be found. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please visit View All Cards to see the current list of available products and offers from Citi Credit Cards.”

  16. Clyn6 says:

I went ahead and applied for the Citi Hilton no fee card with no 24 month language. I decided it was worth the gamble for a last chance. I was going to be at 24 months in Sept. but was worried all links would be dead by then. I had to call and answer just a few questions and was approved. I also helped my spouse apply for Hilton Surpass and it said it was pending. When I try to go to the Citi page to check status it gets an error. I can’t get husband to call, too much hassle he says (but he enjoyed our trip to Jamaica on points!).

  17. Anna H says:

The above link is no longer working (as of now) for the Citi Hilton no annual fee card with no 24 month language and 40K bonus hilton points. Maybe it is a temporary glitch?

  18. Anna H says:

Both the link above and Jill’s link seem dead for the Citi Hilton no annual fee card with no 24 month language and 40K bonus hilton points. Dead since yesterday Jun 14.

  19. Anna H says:

Even tried in Chrome Incognito and Safari. Both the link above and Jill’s link seem dead for the Citi Hilton no annual fee card with no 24 month language and 40K bonus hilton points. Hope everyone signed up before yesterday Jun 14

    Positive DP:
I’m at 32/24 and got the Citi Hilton card 12 months back.
6/14: applied and got a 15-digit application number. Called couple of times and I was told that the application struck in some system and asked me to check back later.
6/21: received an email with a different 15-digit application number and another 6 digit application ID and asked to call 800 320 1537 to complete the application processing.
Called and was approved for 5K after a brief hold. Rep also confirmed the signup bonus of 40k after 1k spend. Got the application approval email.
6/24: received the account approval notice by mail. Signup bonus and spending requirements are listed.
