The Offer
- Coinbase is offering $15 in BTC for new users that verify their identity and also a $3 million give away for existing members.
Our Verdict
Chances of winning anything in the give away are low unfortunately. If you’re a new user, better to go with the $40 Rakuten deal.
This offer seemed to stack with the Rakuten offer to me. I went through Rakuten to sign up and when I finished, Coinbase automatically sent me $15 in BTC.
Imagine still not having a Coinbase account by now. The fees are supposed to be the same as Coinbase Pro now with the added bonus of staking.
There’s plenty of exchanges out there. It’s the new hype, like marijuana a few years ago.
Unfortunately if you’re in NY, you can’t use anything except Coinbase or Gemini. NY has tough regulations and many exchanges won’t even bother to try and get approved.
This is incorrect. The 2% hidden price spread that Coinbase regular always charged is still there. Before it was 2% spread + 3% fee. Now it’s 2% spread + 0.5% fee.
I mean crypto sucks. The only benefit is like $30 in “learn and earn” promos over the year.
IF I WIN ILL BE DONATING ALL PROCEEDS TO DOC OF CREDIT TO REMOVE ADS LOL
I’ll tell you how to get rid of all ads for a modest $1.5MM advisory fee.
Get an adblocker. I’ll collect my advisory fee now lol
Theres ads on here?
I purposely whitelist DoC’s domain to let all ads show and I will occasionally click through a few of them each week. It’s the least I can do to give back to them for the immeasurable value that their site has provided me.
Exactly. I’m totally fine with ads when it’s for a site as valuable as DoC. It’s not like it’s free to host a site, maintain it (comment sections here can get unruly), and continuously stay on top of posting new offers.
I still block ads, but a long time ago, I updated my Amazon quick search in Google Chrome (can also do this in Firefox, etc.) to this:
https://smile.amazon.com/s?k=%s&tag=d09c7-20
I have a keyword set to the letter “a”, so I can type something like “a wallet” to go to a search page on Amazon for wallets that:
1. Donates to my Amazon Smile charity
2. Gives Amazon associates (i.e. referral) cash to DoC
The %s is a special term that the browsers recognize and replace with your search string.
Anybody have a historical archive of coinbase new user bonuses? I’ve been eyeing to open coinbase but this bonus is very lackluster. I’m trying to see the odds they offer better bonuses in the future.
$40 through Rakuten (new post) is the best I’ve seen. But you’ve been missing out on all these quizzes
I don’t use any cashback portals or apps so that’s a no-go for me. I know over time things will add up but my plate is full already. There are some portal only bank bonuses, which makes me sad. I don’t understand why, maybe they are getting the cost of customer acquisition subsidized.
I’ve seen drop go to $50
When I opened coinbase account 3 months ago the bonus was only $5 and I didn’t get it either. Asking their support for resolution is absolutely useless. After few back and forth they close the ticket. I tried couple of time but nothing came out of it. Not worth my time for $5. The ONLY company in all my experience that failed with promised bonus, and, failed to fix their failure after multiple tickets.
While doing this I also happened to see this new offer in Learn and Earn:
Start using Coinbase Wallet
Learn about Coinbase’s self-custody wallet and how to connect it to your Coinbase account.
Crypto Reward Earn $4 ETH
Estimated Time 10 min
Thanks good find. I had to download the Coinbase Wallet app, which is different than the Coinbase app. No quiz
Can you take a picture of the offer?

Like Davis said, it involves downloading the separate Coinbase Wallet app, setting up a username and recovery phrase/pin for it, and linking it to your Coinbase account. Took about 2-3 minutes for Coinbase to recognize the sync and award the ETH.
To clarify for other people: the $4 ETH reward goes into your main Coinbase account, not the Coinbase Wallet.
The Wallet app suggests saving your recovery words to Google Drive or copying them to the clipboard, which in my opinion is bad advice unless you want your coins stolen (though maybe not a big deal if you’re never going to store any coins in this Wallet).
After linking the Wallet app to my Coinbase account (which I think is necessary to get the $4), I unlinked it (in the Wallet app settings).
Thanks! I was able to do this very easily.
Can this stack with Swagbucks?
You can only use one portal. Take your pick (I did Drop since I valued the points more)
I just signed up for Coinbase yesterday via SB and got their $15 in BTC for verifying my account. I also completed the requirements for the SB deal and as of today my 3000 SB are pending. So, it looks like the Coinbase and SB promos for new accounts do stack. Unknown if you can also stack SB with Drop – probably not.
