It’s alleged that Comcast failed to properly protect personal information and this resulted in a data breach between October 16, 2023, and October 19, 2023. Comcast has denied any wrongdoing but agreed to a $117,500,000 settlement.
Who’s Eligible?
The Settlement Class consists of all persons residing in the United States and its territories who were sent individual notification of the Data Breach, which occurred in October 2023, and was publicly disclosed by Comcast in December 2023.
How Much?
The settlement pool is $117,500,000 but this also covers all fees and costs. The amount you receive will be adjusted on a pro rata basis depending on how many people claim but you are required to proof out of pocket costs and lost time incurred as a result of the data breach.
Important Dates
- June 1, 2026: Exclude yourself from the settlement or Object to the Settlement and/or Attend a Hearing
- July 7, 2026: Final approval hearing
- August 14, 2026: File a claim

Problem with these is trying to quantify time lost and expenses incurred for something that happened years ago.
