Credit Karma Providing Equifax Updates/Scores Again

Update 6/1/22: Looks like Credit Karma has readded Equifax again. This page says reports are updated weekly.

Update 3/15/21: Some people that had Equifax removed are now seeing updates again. Hat tip to reader Bill

Credit Karma is a credit monitoring website, for a long time all of the data was based on information found in users TransUnion’s credit report. In 2015 this change and Credit Karma started providing information based on Equifax in addition to TransUnion. Some Credit Karma users are now receiving a message stating that Equifax scores and daily updates are no longer available.

It doesn’t seem to be affecting all account holders currently, but it’s unclear if it will in the future.

Seems to be YMMV. I have daily updated scores in CK from both TU and EQ for at least a year now without any pause.

My Equifax is way way off, and hasn’t updated in a long time, my Trans score is 775 and experian is 767 and my equifax is 628?? when i call them they tell me i have excellent credit which doesnt make sense why credit karma and other sites show this low score, i dont get it. has anyone had this issue?

Today (April 8) I looked at Credit Karma and it showed a negative on Equifax, as indicating I missed my March payment. Uhmmm, totally inaccurate and Hyandai confirmed I was not late. Then called Equifax and they confirmed I don’t have a duragatory mark on my account. SO, what is happening?????? Extremely upset. Ready to buy a home.

I removed my friend from my credit card as an authorized user she checked her credit card Report and it still shows up on her credit report how long does it take for the credit card to get removed

By making her an authorized user on your account you gave her a piece of your credit history. It will be there for some time. Now It’s apart of her history.

She has to call her credit reporting companies and have it removed.

Don’t forget the “MY” in the website name…it’s dumbly confusing and doesn’t show in search if you just type Equifax.

MY dot EQUIFAX dot COM is the actual site.

Otherwise, all you’ll see are pay options on the usual Equifax site. Credit Karma at least provides the correct site, but if you go to Equifax’s site, there’s no mention of how to get your credit information for free.

Equifax is not looking good here at all, given the following:

1. Lack of transparency in how Consumers can obtain their free credit info
2. Data breach of 2017
3. NO ONE has been paid anything from the $425,000,000 settlement fund from the data breach according to the Settlement Administrator’s site overseeing the legal matter. And there is no timeline as to when the final ruling will be upheld as it’s been under appeal for months.

Equifax provides 6 credit reports for free on their site, and 12 if you opt into more data sharing. No score included. Experian gives you a free credit and FICO score every month on their site. Transuion doesn’t have a personal site but WalletHub gives you daily TU report and VantageScore. Also Capitalone CreditWise and AmericanExpress give you Transunion report and VantageScore.

Basically TU is everywhere via 3rd-parties and the other 2 have their own sites.

Also if you go to annualcreditreport.com you can get a FREE CREDIT REPORT EVERY WEEK from all 3 agencies until April 2021 because of Covid

Transunion does have a personal site. You can get your credit report every month. The only thing you can’t get is your score unless you pay.
