I’m not sure how many times I need to say it, but companies are obviously not taking securing personal data of their consumers seriously. Obviously the penalties in places for such breaches are not high enough to get these companies to take these breaches seriously. Just recently we’ve seen Panera Bread, Lord & Taylor/Saks and Orbitz. If you think you’re the victim of any data breach, we recommend reading this post and following the recommended steps. This isn’t fun and games, data breaches have the potential to have significant negative impacts on consumers lives and it’s about time that the penalties involved match the damage that can be done.
