Our Verdict
Delta are releasing flash sales like crazy now. Looks like taxes and fees for this are about $63. Hong Kong is a great place to visit if you haven’t been before. I’m not sure I’d ever want to spend too long there, but great for a short vacation. Food is delicious and it’s possible to escape the city and do more natural/nature type things if that’s your go as well. Mostly just go for the food though. Now I’m hungry…
Looks like they have extended the window to purchase. The page now says Purchase By September 5, 2018 and Travel Period September 6 – October 2, 2018.
Still very hot and humid during this period, so outdoor activities will not be advised
Would the other airlines please be so quick to come up with these specials as they were to follow SkyPesos down? Just got two trips DCA to Zurich for fall and spring for 26K roundtrip each. Less than American’s Off-Peak 1 way.
34K plus $69 from JFK to HKG with a stop in SEA.
Problem here is the layover that makes the trip very long (23H).
According to Wikipedia, Delta’s only destination from HKG is Seattle and they are ending this service.
The deals are good, but they’re posting them and then removing them within days, despite “Purchase By” dates being later.
The Tokyo flash deal had a “Purchase By” date of 8/29 and it’s already gone from the page. The Australia deal vanished a day early, too. I know with that one you could still book at 50k points if you looked around, so it seems like the deals may still exist, but they remove them from the page early for whatever reason.
Would be nice if there was a way to sign up to get notified about these deals.from Delta Otherwise we’re stuck checking every day or every other day to see what’s new.
How do you escape the city in Hongkong? It is a big city! Lol
Here’s how http://www.discoverhongkong.com/us/see-do/great-outdoors/hikes/dragons-back.jsp
Yup, that’s one option. You also have the Buddha and then the smaller islands as well. Dragons back hike definitely worth doing
