Our Verdict
This bonus has been available for sometime on the Discover it Miles card, I believe it’s new on the Discover it. Standard bonus is $50 via referral, that used to also get matched at the end of the first year but it’s no longer the case. You’re still better off using a referral if a loved one/significant other can refer you and will give you the $50 they get. Keep in mind this card is also losing price protection on October 31st, 2018. The power of this card is really the 5% categories that become 10% in the first year. If you normally struggle to meet minimum spends then those won’t be that attractive as you’ll be wanting to put all your spend towards new cards/bonuses.
