Our Verdict
Disney+ hasn’t launched yet, I think we will see a lot of different bundle deals (e.g Hulu & ESPN+). Bit of a risk signing up for a three year membership for a service that hasn’t launched yet. Personally I’ll give this one a miss, too much risk and the discount is good without being insane IMO. I guess if you love Disney/Marvel then this would be worth it.
Hat tip to MtM
Of course, Verizon to include Disney plus free for a year. I wonder if I can “pause” my 3 year subscription until that runs out.

Verizon are saying it can be paused and will be done automatically I think
8/26 – Signed up for D23 account
8/28 – Offer shows up in my account
9/4 – signed up and total code wast about $150 incl tax.
Apparently existing D23 members should still have the offer and subscribe to this offer.
Do we know how many parallel streams this will allow?
Some reports say four.
Personally, even with the cheap pricing, the line up to me doesn’t seem that interesting. While I enjoy Marvel movies, and the original Star Wars trilogy, I doubt I will want to tune in every week to watch TV shows based on those.
Might get on after a couple of years and binge the higher rated ones.

Site is back online. Was just able to sign up.
Signed up for “general member” D23 account last night. The offer showed up today and I just signed up. Card was charged $140.97 (no sales tax for me) and renews at the then current rate on Nov 12, 2022
Did the offer show up in your email or on your D23 account? …I’ve been a D23 member but do not see the offer. Thanks in advance.
Did you click “redeem now” on the promo page first? The offer showed up in my account when I checked, I didn’t get an email in advance about it. I did receive an email today about the offer though, but disregarded as I already signed up
Don’t care for Hulu or ESPN so I’m eager to sign up for 3 years at $4/mo and future proof rate increases. I’m just waiting for their site to come back online. This deal is receiving the hug of death via sites like SD and DoC.
Looks like their servers cant handle the traffic. Getting “error establishing a database connection” when trying to sign up for D23.
Disney+ has also stated the original monthly fee is subject to go up once they have more content available. This may be a bigger discount after they raise the initial price.
Will Freedom 5X work?
Chase doesn’t list Disney+ on their merchants page for Freedom categories, so unlikely. Probably mostly because it’s so new (and technically not operating yet).
CIP has gotten 3X on streaming services because they coded as internet services in the past, so perhaps that’ll work here. Or maybe CIC would get 5X for the same reason?? It’s been a while since I’ve put any streaming services on either of these.
And of course if you’re churning, putting it on whatever card you’re working on for the signup bonus will be the best return anyway.
I think CIC typically works out at 5x, but since this is new idk…I’m guessing no one has any datapoints on it
I just paid for it using my CIC to see if it codes as 5x, once the charge posts I’ll report back!
I also signed up, I think it’s a great deal for less than a dollar a week. I do think we’ll see other bundle offers but I’m not sure this one will be beat. I expect that they’ll have an offer to add Hulu and or ESPN for a nominal fee to your existing subscription. So I think it’s a great value either way.
Nick, can you tell me whether or not you were charged for all three years up front?
Agree, I have no interest in ESPN+ and while I currently have Hulu, I don’t need it as we barely use it. I actually tried to cancel it this week and they gave me a free month to reconsider.
Hoping you forget to cancel a month later 🙂
I got a better deal at less than 14 cents a day, and my friend got a better deal at less than 1 cent per hour!
I understand when corporations throw around terms like cost per month or per hour – they are trying to fool people into buying their product but why do people on doc need to do this?
