Drop App Removes Ongoing Card-Link ‘Power Offers’ (Amazon, Etc.)

The Drop app just sent out an email that they are discontinuing their ‘Power Offers’. Those are the offers where you have a few brands which earn you .5% back when you shop using card-link.

They are instead rolling out Challenges which sounds like a similar program, but instead of having a few consistent merchants that earn you rewards, you’ll have to go through the temporary offers and see which you can make use of. I assume each offer will last for a few days or weeks.

Unknown whether they’ll have offers for top brands or only smaller brands, I’m optimistic about some nice brands, but the hassle of keeping on top of which brands have offers make it way less useful.

Here’s how it works.

  1. Get ready. We’ll send you a push notification when your personalized offer is live.
  2. Secure your spot. Open the Drop app to claim your spot. There’s a limited number of spots for each offer, so be sure to act fast.
  3. Complete your offer. Shop at your personalized brand in-store or online with a linked card within the offer period to earn points.

Why are we replacing Power Offers?

Power Offers wasn’t delivering on its original promise to reward members on their everyday spending. So to make them more flexible, fun and rewarding for our engaged members, we’re rethinking Power Offers by way of Challenges.

Challenges will always feature brands you’ve shopped at, and you’ll have the opportunity to earn a lot of points each time they launch.

Get ready for Challenges rolling out soon!

Has anyone gotten any Power Offers yet? I have notifications on, but have stopped earning as of 3/3. Don’t have enough to cash out either.

Never received this email on 2 accounts and still earning on my original selections – amzn, target, Macy’s. Still showing in my offers. Is there a date when they are going to flip a switch?

Oddly, .5% from Amazon tracked yesterday. No clue why – I see no mention of the Amazon offer being live on my account anymore.

Had Uber track yesterday as well. No mention either of it being live anymore.

Now it’s ALOT less appealing. I would get to play alot of the snake game because i worked at H-E-B and it was one of my power offers. So all my breaks and little snacks. I would have 3-5 transactions a day. 🙁

I’m glad that my balance is sitting at just over 50,000 right now, because they just made this program useless for most people going forward.

DOA. Not going to let this thing send me push notifications. I don’t want to “act fast” on some challenge with a limited number of spots for a chance at a nickel

They had 1% cashback at Kroger (which just ended today for me). Had been pounding it. Drop does not scrutinize on gc purchase like Bumped.
