Over the past few months, many people were having problems with depleted eBay gift cards which shouldn’t have been depleted.
Many people on Slickdeals are now seeing that the balances have been put back onto the gift cards. Apparently, as eBay rectified the problem, they issued an automatic refund for those who were affected.
It’s not a silver bullet for every eBay gift card problem, but worth checking to see if your balances are back

A lot of the problems had to do with promo codes which weren’t properly applied. Instead the funds were pulled from the gift cards. (There may have been other issues that got fixed now too.) The troubles probably had to do with the revamp that eBay made in their gift cards systems.

Check Old Gift Card Balances
We’ve mentioned this before, but we’ll mention it again since it benefits so many people:
There’s a Paypal link which you can use to check all eBay gift card balances up until March 2016. One one page you’ll be able to see if there’s any balance left on any partially used eBay gift card from the beginning of time until March 2016.

There’s almost not a person I know who checked the link and didn’t find at least some small eBay balance there that they didn’t know about, so if you never checked it since March, it’s worth doing so.
