Our Verdict
We broke down how the BP deal can be a money-maker in the previous post and it could be even better now for those who were targeted for 4x eBay Bucks (I wasn’t).
The Darden offer is great as well since it can be used as well at Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Bahama Breeze, Seasons 52, Yard House, and Red Lobster, among others.
It’s also probably the next best for reselling purposes since you may be able to get 80% for the card by selling it to Saveya. You’ll then pocket the credit card points (which can be 5x with INK hopefully), the 2% (or more) eBay Bucks, and the 1.1% from the portal. There is a risk there, of course, especially since it’s an electronic gift card.
If you have the NBA card, this would be another way of racking up 5x points on the card (hopefully).
Remember to use up any eBay gift cards that you may have when making the purchases.
Can anyone give any insight to this problem? When checking out, it does the Paypal authentication thing, and then says “There seems to be a problem with your account. Please contact Customer Service.” with a link but then it disappears within a second before I could click on the link, and it offers Paypal or Paypal Credit. Clicking on Continue brings me to Paypal login screen, so I login to my Paypal account, and then it says “We’re sorry, your payment could not be processed. Please return to the merchant and try a different payment method.” Ebay doesn’t have a different payment method!!! Trying to pay by ebay GCs doesn’t bypass Paypal either. 🙁
I had a similar issue trying to pay with my credit card through PayPal from my work computer. It worked fine at home but for some reason wouldn’t work at work. I called them once or twice and somehow it got resolved. I don’t actually remember what the issue was exactly but they fixed it for me after a couple tries.
Thanks! It didn’t work for me at work or at home, or even from my phone, haha. I sent in an email to support. I tried to call earlier today and there were long hold times. 🙁
FYI, http://doc.ryallmedia.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/discounted-gift-cards-on-ebay.jpg reads “Disocunted Gift Cards on eBay” 🙂
Whoa, that’s bad. Thanks for pointing out. I’ll have to fix that.
LOL
hilarious!
made the booboo of not buying one to test before going for the max with the Darden cards. SaveYa doesn’t take e-GC. had to sell through cardpool at pretty much a loss, even with my ink.
$25 loss on reselling

$18.8 for 1000 UR points or 1.88cpp. I usually value UR around 1.6. don’t make the same mistake that I made!
I tried to sell (for the first time with them) Chevron cards to Saveya and at the end there was verification step – to verify e-mail/phone. I did, but the transaction didn’t go through. I contacted them and after few days I got a response that a security block is on my account and they wouldn’t accept any sells from me. What is this? I never had any business with them before.
They’re an offshoot of another gift card resale site – GiftCards.com I think. Maybe you had trouble there?
I haven’t has success with saveya either. YMMV
Yeap. SaveYa does not accept it the Darden. Cardpool does which will give you 35$ You do the math to see if it makes sense for you.
If it was 80% on Cardpool, I’d bite, but it’s only giving $35 on $50. So you’ll get $140 on the $160. So $20 for 1,000 UR, 1.1% TCB, and some eBay bucks doesn’t make sense IMO.
I tried selling my Darden to Saveya and got the dreaded message that plastic cards must be mailed in. Had to go with Cardpool.
OK, thank you. I assume both GiftCardZen and MonsterGiftCard asked you to mail in as well?
thanks.
Yeah, they always are physical.
What’s the deal with PayPal Digital Gifts? Are you only allowed to spend so much across all their offerings in a week or month, something like that?
does SaveYa accept electronic Darden gift cards? when i sold them Red Lobster card they made me mail it in… has anyone ever sold Daren card to them before?
Thanks.
They do not. I bought one of the $50 Darden cards for $40 hoping to resell it and accidentally submitted a sell order at SaveYa before realizing they expected me to mail in a plastic card. You can tell me adding the card as if you are going to sell it and entering random numbers for the gift card number and PIN (of the right length) and clicking to the next page to confirm, and there you can tell if you have to mail them in or not. It says “Mail in total” or something if you do. Anyway, no, they don’t accept electronic Darden gift cards. I ended up selling it to Cardpool at a loss (bought it to resell and didn’t want to hang onto it) because they only pay 75% for electronic Daren cards.
