The Offer
A few new gift card deals popped up on eBay today, notably 15% off Sears. And these stack beautifully with the 10% Bucks deal if you got it.
- $100 Sears gift card for $85 shipped from SVM, limit 3
- $100 gas gift card for $92 for ChevronTexaco, Sunoco, and Speedway; limit 3 of each
- $30 AMC e-gift card for $25 from PPDG
- $50 Boston Market gift card for $42.50 from SVM, limit 5
- 10% off pre-owned Starbucks gift cards from Giftcardoutlet/Cardpool
Stack the Deal
There are a few ways to stack the discounts with these gift cards:
- Get 10% in eBay Bucks if you were targeted through tonight (Wednesday) at midnight PT; or 2% for people like me who weren’t targeted
- Use up eBay gift cards purchased at a discount
- Go through Shopathome for 1.5% and for their $5 promo (it was extended through May, for those who haven’t already maxed out), or use the shopping portal of your choice
Reselling
The Sears deal could be a reselling option although it’s probable that the rates will change by the time you get the cards in the mail.
- Pay $255 for $300 in Sears gift cards
- Sell for $252 to Saveya or ABC
- Get $25.50 in Bucks if you were targeted for the 10% bonus offer
- Get $3.83 from the portal
- Get $5.10 from a 2% credit card
- Net profit: $31.43
Without the bonus Bucks, it would be much less worth it – unless you have eBay gift cards to use up.
From the gas cards, the Chevron looks best at 87%. The margins there are 4% worse than the Sears margins (you’ll lose 5% on the sale total), and the profit will be around $22 on the 3 Chevron cards, but I’m slightly more optimistic about that rate holding.
The other gas gift cards could also make sense at 85% and 86%, especially if you have the 10% Bucks offer and you have eBay gift cards to use up.
Our Verdict
The most interesting deal here is probably the Sears deal – it started with 15,000 and still has over 10,000 remaining so hopefully everyone who wants this will have time to get it.
Also, note that the 15% off travel gift cards deal from yesterday is expired.
