The Fine Print

  • Limit Of Three cards
  • USPS First Class Mail (no tracking)
  • Allow 2-6 business days after receiving your e-mail receipt for delivery

Our Verdict

Chevron/Texaco giftcards can be sold for 90.75% of facevalue to Giftcards.com (limited to $300 for non bulk sellers) or 90.25% to ABC gift cards. Let’s assume you purchase 3 x $100 gift cards for $90 each, here is your profit breakdown:

  • 4% cash back by shopping through eBates (+$10.8)
  • 2-10% back from eBay bucks (+$5.4-$27)
  • 5% cash back from using a card that earns at a high rate on eBay purchases (+$13.5)
  • 0.25%-0.75% profit for selling cards for higher than facevalue ($0.75-$2.25)

You would profit $30.45-$53.55, obviously more if you already have eBay gift cards you purchased at a bigger discount. Some people are able to earn 5x eBay bucks on purchases over $150 at the moment, so check if you have that offer or not. If you don’t already have an eBates account, I’d be thankful if you used my link. There are also a bunch of other eBay giftcard deals that are still available that are worth doing.

Thanks for working out the numbers! Also, is it possible to double dip on Ebates this way: Ebates > Gyft (buy eBay gift card) then Ebates > eBay?

I think that would work.

It does work but you’re worse off by using ebates in this case. If you use ebates (or topcashback and I assume any other portal) it states that you will not earn any gyft points on the transaction. Gyft gives you 2% back in gyft points when paying with a credit card.
Topcashback pays out 2% for Gyft. But there’s always the slight possibility that topcashback may not track properly, whereas Gyft will obviously give you the Gyft points properly. Of course, Gyft points are only good towards future Gyft purchase so it is a tradeoff.

How many eBay gift cards can you use at one time check out? Can you load multiple eBay gift cards to your eBay account for later use?

Thanks. Seems there is no way to add the eBay GC balance to the account for next time use.

Yeah, eBay GCs are annoying like that, you have to keep track of all your GCs until you can use them. Amazon GCs are much more convenient in that regard.

You can buy physical eBay gift cards from office store, grocery store, hardware store, or toy store using a 5% card.

Gyft gives you a choice between them processing your payment or running it through Paypal. Which one gets the 5%? Or do both methods work? Many thanks in advance.
