Why is hotels.com online gift card combinator broken for a year? Seems like they intentionally don’t want people to redeem. Now you can’t even check balance online and have to call.
You can still check balance before finishing a booking, but combining requires calling in.
My guess is they’ve experienced fraud and this call-in method is their way to curb it. When you call, they now ask for your full name and where you obtained the card. I must say I am surprised nobody else has been talking about this change though; it’s quite inconvenient. Thanks for reassuring me that I’m not the only one annoyed by this

i have a $5 offer from paypal as well for my birthday month so could stack nicely with discover it and discount. not sure if i need a card sitting around for a while though
